I know there was talks of a VW Hill/(maybe) 3 bears trip in the works @Roody @AllTacosFloat I don't know where that was left.

    I think I'm a no-go for welding/fab, I don't think I have anything significant needing fabbing.

I'd be a maybe on the wheeling, but (as usual) not in my truck - getting anti-salted on Nov 2

Wheeling sounds great, just not sure what weekend it would be... got ahead of myself planning when we were discussing in person, looks like my only free days are 11/3 and 11/17 as of now

Just to throw it out there - 11/3 is DST, so sun down is 4:30ish starting 11/3.
I won't chime in until a date is picked, if I can make it to tag along, I'll try. If I'm busy, don't plan around the guy who isn't wheeling!

It's a fairly short out and back, but if you've never done it it's worth the drive at least once. We get hot wings after too lol

I'm with Matt, and it's the same opinion I have on the RI spot. It's worth a long drive at least once, after that you can decide. For those closer (Jared, Drew) it's a great shakedown run nearby - like me and the RI spot. Worth the drive once, good shakedown spot for being local to me.

I think it has a lot of potential for messing around on the different obstacles for a while, taking different lines, getting stuck. Doesnt have to be an hour out and back.

Absolutely. With the signs/gates(?) that went up blocking off some of the go arounds it's not as easy to loop back and do stuff again/new lines, but still doable.

Thing about MA Bell is we don't entirely know what to expect with the trail in its current conditions and the go-arounds now off limits, could be a winch-fest as-is haha

This........... And pretty much anyone without lockers, 35's, or 34's and a very wheelbase, it is now a winch to get to the top aspect. The "go arounds" cut a lot of people off from being able to make it up. We could do a RI spot (pretty much decent from mild to wild, or try a VW hill only trip without 3 bears. It's interesting because it's kind of a tradition for us to do the three Bears in November but since we Artie did it a couple times this year, we can always choose to go somewhere else.

FWIW, nothing at the RI spot is anywhere near as tough as what we did at AOAA this past weekend. Even the rocky hill climb is a cake walk relatively speaking

RI spot doesn't close for the seasons, so it's good for the early spring - like when we went this year and froze.

I'd vote VW hill first, and then if there's time, 3 bears second. I think if it's a 4-5 truck trip, you can pull off both but might take a bit of an early start if sundown is 4:30ish. I think when we were up there in June (June?) we started VW hill around 4:30? 3? Can't remember.

There's some wild stuff out there. I'd say there's as much wild stuff in the RI spot as Ma Bell, but it's more spread out, not a single out and back. The rocky hill climb I did with Dennis in the cab, just got there, hit 4 lo and crawled up it, I don't think I got stuck. If I'm honest, I was surprised at how easy the truck handled it...But there can be some tricky lines for fun.

Is there really? I've been there probably 5x and the rocky hill climb we usually run isn't that bad all things considered. Know there's some fun optional lines there and by the water crossing but still think 39 was worse lol.
