I guess it did, it was still tough to make it go through. Had to use the big tapping handle with a pipe on it and a piece to hold the chuck on the lathe so it wouldn't turn.

After I tapped it I had to run the thread cycle on the outside threads again because the piece swelled .005" and the part wouldn't thread on it.

Funny anecdote for @StayinStock. I just ordered some special grease from Santie Oil in Sikeston, MO...

Sounds to me like a normal tap would've worked the same way..

Lots of new tool designs only work best for the designers computers.

 

Lol, my weather is saying the same thing. Currently 29,todays low of 35...

To be fair, I've noticed the highs have normally been wrong lately as well

I wanna be a weatherman! The numbers are all made up and don't matter anyways!

 

It would be a pretty good gig, everyday you get a new shot at getting it right.

 

I can mess up at work everyday, cost all of people headaches, and still get paid.

 

My job, if I mess it up I have to fix it or start over

 

Mid to high 20's in the tree stand this morning. My blood needs to thicken up a bit. The sun is doing a nice job of burning off the frost.

 

The misinformation stuff on the FEMA effort is just crazy to me. The guy was local, and instead of just checking on his neighbors, relied on internet information instead.

So far, every story I've been able to dig up has started with someone getting all riled up, they load up their posse, get on site to force corrective measures, and then, at the peak of their rage.... Realise everything they've been told is wrong, hang up the war paint, and offer to help the cause...

I've read some discussion before this that we as humans have reached the point with the internet that it's usefulness has tipped the scales to the point that it's harming more than helping us in modern societies...
