Did you get to see it on the move? The noise it makes is otherworldly, especially if you can catch it rolling across a prairie.

Ok big boy is quite a sight to behold. Jay Leno has an amazing video on it too. I e caught it out on the rails twice and it's always a fun experience.

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
I've seen the owner post about it on FB. I would like to take it for a test drive to experience the manual transmission feel. Would it feel like I'm driving a big truck or a sports car doubling as an SUV? A sporty feel was the thing that manual transmission X-Terras had going for them with the pedal arrangement.

I'm sure this will be great for towing a large boat, camper, or crawler. I'm not sure I would want to be driving a manual on in the mountain switchbacks. I do love the cloth interior and know that it lasts longer than leather. With the front lockouts, it should be quick on takeoff.

The 4014 is the only big boy and it joined the fleet a couple years ago. The 844 is the only other steamer in UP's fleet, it never officially left service and has been rocking for many years. They had them both running together on the inaugural run of the 4014. You are correct, they are both oil burners instead of coal.

Yeah that was what 4014 replaced. The challenger sounded like it was pretty wore out hence pulling it from the line. 4014 was near the end of the line for steam so even though steam is old-school tech, the 4014 was pretty much the pinnacle of the technology as it was built in the 40s which really isn't that long ago all things considered.

If I buy Tundra brake calipers do my stock Tacoma calipers work to refund the core charge?

Yeah, they don't know the difference when you bring in parts to the store.

Did you say the brake leveling valve for the rear end can be safely deleted? The part is like $300 and it sounds not super-essential. I assume you just replace it with some brake line?

I put a manual proportioning valve inline and deleted the LSPV and return line. Could probably run without a prop valve entirely if you wanted but it might skid the rear with no weight in it.

Top one is for a Pre-runner/4WD produced after 2000 but probably doesn't matter since nothing should be different. Bottom one is for 5lug

Did Timmy the Toolman already get banned again? I can't find his reply in that timing belt thread.
