Installed Avid Offroad bumper guards on my personal truck. Main intention is to protect against low speed hits or scrapes offroad or in parking lots and surface traffic, so used spray on bedliner instead of powder coating so I can then use rattle cans to touch up when inevitably needed. I had issues with my lightbar coming loose following high speed runs offroad over washboard, so I also am going to try running it on the bumper guard instead of with a behind grille mount for easier adjustment (learned first hand that trying to reattach a hidden mount bar on the trail is not fun).

Meanwhile the work truck got a full fresh set of tires, Falken HT/02s. Mainly selected for wet weather performance and extra side lug protection, but seeing them on a truck in person it doesn't hurt that they look pretty good for an H/T tires in my opinion. The Geolandars on the truck had worn down so the siping was almost totally gone from most of the lugs, so definitely needed a new set before the rain rolls in this winter. 2wd truck, so A/Ts wouldn't be worth it.

My boss' 4wd truck got a set of Falken AT4Ws to replace the worn out Cooper ATPIIs that had multiple patches per tire.

These are the trd shocks, basically a 5100, easily swapped out for what you’ve got to give a 2” lift to match the rear.

Thanks for the info and link (later in the tread), the link is bookmarked for future possible replacements...

The more I think about it the more I like it, my only/main concern is if anyone has had any warranty issues from having them, don't need a warranty claim (if ever needed) denied over an electrical modification....

Just tried that link. Took me to the "standard" (as opposed to extra-bright) kit for $200. Here it is again ... https://www.vleds.com/featured-vehi...sions/3g-tacoma-vt-tail-light-conversion.html

VLED harness was designed to not break the electrical system. The bulbs are just LED bulbs. No special splicing of wires needed. But others can chime in on "warranty issues".

I had one turn/reverse bulb burn out after 2.5 years. They warrantied the bulb for free. Well I bought a new one, submitted a claim online and they reimbursed me. I was able to use a halogen bulb on one side while waiting for the new bulb in the mail.

A bonus, the kit now includes the resistors to prevent hyper flashing should you decide to signal while in reverse. (parallel parking)

I highly recommended the basic kit and would buy it again. VLEDS makes good quality stuff.

If you’re concerned about Toyota denying a warranty claim just keep the OEM bulbs and swap them in if you have an issue that requires dealership intervention.

I think DavesSR5 is more concerned with Toyota denying service from the obviously-new harness and LEDs.

Oh, dealer warranty for the VLEDs kit. No, you shouldn't have any issues.

edit: per the Magnuson moss act the dealer has to prove a modification caused a failure in order to deny a warranty claim. They can't just void the whole warranty or refuse to fix something, because a vehicle was modified.

Threw some 14s on, tested the drop with OME leafs. Tire is just skimming the ground.

Ordered new leafs from @ARCHIVE, waiting for them to get here. Will test drop again and compare.
