I actually still have a 285 in the stock location! More for the extra 80lbs or so but I could use it if I needed. The 35” goes in the bed with a T handle from kartec

i was more trying to remedy your treadware problem. put the two new tires on the front, and pick the two most worn to use for spares until the next rotation, which is now a 6 tire rotation. now you don't have an odd tire out.

I see. Makes sense. That’s far too long for how much I want these tires to last.
The ling long Amazon all terrains were good for the daily driving and highway miles but suck in the dirt

My wife hates when I work on it, so that’s a special kind of motivation.

Well, let me ask you this, are you on 39s yet? :annoyed:

What you described was/is that for me this year. Probably one of the slowest years for progress for my family as we had to take a step back so I just put this stuff on the back burner for now. But like many of us, our trucks are certainly an outlet for releasing some stress and creativity. I just keep looking at it as what I could be doing to progress. This year I completed a tig welding course and will progress onto another advanced course to do some 4/5G welding so I can one day try my hand at building a cage. Not that you can't do it by trial and error but learning the difference between penetration and running a bead are not the same. Maybe in this downtime of yours, take time to plan, fight some small battles, and at worst, invite some Taco bros over to have a couple beers to roast you while you sling some metal.

Btw. I've had project track/drift cars in the garage for years at a time and it's the worst looking at it every time. I'm in the 2nd camp like @Sterling_vH111 I keep my ol'girl running and try not to have too much down time I can't finish a project. I still drive my rig on 40s around on the street and enjoy that it's on the way.

I think you knew what you were getting into with this. Lol. Why did you go LSK over Solo kit? Quality is much better? Recently I've been seeing solo kits more frequently.

Literally I went for LSK because they keep the ABS sensor so I dont have to figure out another way to keep my speedo working. I lost it once because of the full float axle....figured out a fix and I dont want to have to do that again. I wasnt expecting to see 18 with the coil over in....LSK's page says their kit averages 16, so 18 was a surprise so even bumped and strapped conservatively I still can get 17. Plus this kit was 20% off when I bought it so that is what made me puirchase it now.

What's really going to suck is when your "done" with this phase and get to actually beat on it, and then something breaks. Which it will. And the process starts all over again except it will be exponentially more expensive to upgrade and then once you've got 60k tied up into it and a ford ranger on beams jumps over you at the dunes and your just trying to dial In the suspension for 12 inch whoops.

Get ready for the pain my friend. Just don't be the guy who gives up on everything because of an issue.

this! Every time i take it out im always thinking of what I can do to make it better, but not having a shop or garage to consistently work in has been a blessing and a curse. I’ve been fortunate to borrow my buddies shop for one to two weeks once or twice a year to bang out some serious projects but it leaves a lot un tidied up I guess, like my interior is still a bit I shambles but it does mean the truck is almost always ready to drive… though sadly only time I got to drive it this year was at koh and I don’t think I’m gonna make it to the next one…

how close is the uca to the coilover at droop? Few times I almost forgot about spring clearance and had to go back and relook… and the joys to be 2wd…lol

    Whole lotta stuff
Threw a GFC truck cap on it today. Gonna keep it light and strong. Needs some adjustments with the fiberglass and reinforcement for dirt. But I am pleased to be able to lock up the bed again. This is where the JD spring under setup shines. Tons of space for activities. Cap should do well at speed.
