    This and that
These are the trd shocks, basically a 5100, easily swapped out for what you’ve got to give a 2” lift to match the rear.

Thanks for the info and link (later in the tread), the link is bookmarked for future possible replacements...

The more I think about it the more I like it, my only/main concern is if anyone has had any warranty issues from having them, don't need a warranty claim (if ever needed) denied over an electrical modification....

Just tried that link. Took me to the "standard" (as opposed to extra-bright) kit for $200. Here it is again ... https://www.vleds.com/featured-vehi...sions/3g-tacoma-vt-tail-light-conversion.html

VLED harness was designed to not break the electrical system. The bulbs are just LED bulbs. No special splicing of wires needed. But others can chime in on "warranty issues".

I had one turn/reverse bulb burn out after 2.5 years. They warrantied the bulb for free. Well I bought a new one, submitted a claim online and they reimbursed me. I was able to use a halogen bulb on one side while waiting for the new bulb in the mail.

A bonus, the kit now includes the resistors to prevent hyper flashing should you decide to signal while in reverse. (parallel parking)

I highly recommended the basic kit and would buy it again. VLEDS makes good quality stuff.

If you’re concerned about Toyota denying a warranty claim just keep the OEM bulbs and swap them in if you have an issue that requires dealership intervention.

I think DavesSR5 is more concerned with Toyota denying service from the obviously-new harness and LEDs.

Oh, dealer warranty for the VLEDs kit. No, you shouldn't have any issues.

edit: per the Magnuson moss act the dealer has to prove a modification caused a failure in order to deny a warranty claim. They can't just void the whole warranty or refuse to fix something, because a vehicle was modified.

Threw some 14s on, tested the drop with OME leafs. Tire is just skimming the ground.

Ordered new leafs from @ARCHIVE, waiting for them to get here. Will test drop again and compare.

I'm not in a high theft area, but it's something that I have learned over the years from experience. Don't leave things unlocked for some A hole to steal it.

A real example is this.....I was stationed in Japan and left my mountain bike unlocked in front of my barracks. It was stolen overnight and the MPs were able to retrieve it later. The week before I left it in front of a japanese mall where thousands of people were walking and many admired it (it was a cannondale full suspension back in the day) as it was new and different, but no one ever dared touch it. The MPs told me "we" as Americans tend to commit the crimes regardless of where we are....it's just a part of our culture.

    Yeah.
The trip one does. Why would you need that on the regular odometer?

As with most if not all modern vehicles with a digital odometer and trip meter, the 0.1 (tenths) have been removed from the odometer in favor of the trip(s) meter... Having 6 digits can be confusing enough for a lot of people, add in a 7th digit and they will tell you their 2018 has 1,380,694 instead of the 138,069 miles it really has... ;)

I haven't seen that on a car in decades (but of course I haven't driven every car so I'm not saying it's not a thing).
The tenths are shown on the trip odometers.

Ive got some 6112 with 650 lb coils and some 5160 remote res that I run with the icon RXT pack. I'm swapping out for some dobinson RMA, I am just off-road a lot lately and wanted some adjustability. I've run them for a year and they ride great and are in good shape. Id be happy to give you a great deal on them.

I’m not sure if this is the correct spot for this question, or if this is even a problem for anyone else, but… I’m wondering if there is something out there that is specifically made to prevent, oh let’s say, the scratches a wife makes with her ring when she lifts the tailgate. Yes, I realize there is a handle that feels natural when you lower the tailgate but is not as user friendly when lifting the tailgate.

I also realize I could use some kind of clear film (which I guess would look better than the scratches) but I thought I’d see if there was something out there that I’m not aware of‍♂️

    Thanks!

Ceramic coating is one thing that can help, but not foolproof.. I am sure the off road clan will have even better advise...

I also hear that wrapping her hands in duct tape helps also...
