    So....
Are hammer hangers and shackle flips harder on shocks then because of the further extension?

Which shock were you looking at? I don't see a coilover that would fit in stock location.

I ask because the 4xInno flips I was looking at will work with my Nitrochargers.
That means I'm not using the full shock, now.

Constantly using the full amount with a shackle flip or hammer. (Even at correct length)
Seems like it would cause more wear.??:notsure:

thats why you limit your travel to be less than the full shock travel. thats why things like bump stops and limit straps exist.

bottoming out the shock on either end is a good way to blow it up.

I'm having serious deja vu in this thread right now

Idk. I'm too poor for new stuff :bananadead:

Bought some used Fox remote resis for my rear, they're definitely too stiff for my truck on the road, but they're $1300 shocks and I got them for $150.... Plus they're tremendous off road.

Wow, I would be pretty disappointed. I’m curious if you’ve experienced this…I’ve noticed that if I have one side of my rear axle getting a little pressure, and the other side drops off a ledge, the shock seems to extend instantaneously as if it had zero rebound damping. Rebound always feels fine when wheels are on the ground, but unloading them completely just lets them flick out with big loud CLUNK!

Limit straps were suggested last I brought it up, but they seem extend so hard sometimes, I’d worry about pulling straps out the mounts lol. Have you noticed any of that? Mine are the IMS, not sure if the adjustables are any better in that regard. Maybe that’s what causes an early failure?

Limit straps are always the answer. Strapping and bumping to save your shocks is worth it.

Brake lines make terrible limit straps.

Perhaps I’ll need to do that…. Seems kinda overkill for a daily driver, but all the secretaries at work would definitely know I wheel. The parking lot is unfortunately lacking in posing rocks, but I can find a curb or something :D.

Since I have you on the line, do you have any thoughts on the best way to go about it? Are “blingy” kits fine for straps, or is that a custom build yourself type of situation?

Thankfully, with my standard length shocks, I’ve verified that at full extension, brake lines are nowhere near getting pulled.

That said, when I recently installed some heavier rate coils, I had to get the jackscrew bottle in there to spread the axle opening so I could shove the coil in. That definitely started to pull on the brake lines a bit. Didn’t seem to be too excessive at the time, but of course, after the fact, I felt guilt ridden lol. I’ll probably have to replace them the next time I’m in there to make sure they don’t collapse internally at the worst possible moment. My buddy had that happen to him (for unrelated reasons) on a front caliper hose. The line was deteriorated inside and actually blocked return flow, so it actually caused the calipers to “sieze”. Only found out it wasn’t actually seized until he cooked his brand new replacement rotor and pads lol. That forces us to look upstream and thats when we realized it was the flex line.

Just get the limit strap hardware and DIY it like a man.

Did a thing! I a moment of madness I ordered some Locked Offroad adjustable Tundra rears... The guy I talked with wanted to listen and this is what he suggested. Out next week. Might have them on before @Supr4Lo gets to his... Remind me if this comes up in a year or so that I should have bought Ironman. Decals inbound

Well, I have some stock coilovers you can cut up for springs, if/when your fabricators get up to q.c. standards.
