It's amazing to me how everything in old age slips in... and out... over time. The aches, the pains, the indigestion, the vertigo, the hearing problems, and so many more things that wax and wane from one day to the next, one month to the next, and even years. A lot of stuff I've mentioned to my doctor and they ignore it or have explanations that don't make sense... and then I find something to alleviate the issue so that I heal. Failed ablations where I found my own ways to deal with the heart rhythms, plantar fasciitis that made it impossible to walk far until I found how to stretch, and hearing that was blocked until I found a way to clear my ear. And other things. B 12 to alleviate the terrible fatigue, and avoiding soda to stop the leg cramps.

Does it ever get any better? Yeah, and sometimes by degrees and by fits and starts.

Yes, and no! Has made it hard to describe and pin down to the Ortho guy, but finding out my hips are basically both gone at least sheds light on the root cause. The "pain" from all the bone and bone was hard to overcome all summer, so naturally I did a lot less waiting for the right help, and those muscles all didn't get a lot of use. NOW, with the PT, I am getting some flexibility and strength back, but the hurt is "soreness" from use! Make sense? Like going to a gym after years and finding all those lost parts. I'm right at that "breakover point" where the strength is near enough back to let me be not sore after therapy. I see hip/back Ortho guy next week, and my plan is to ask to continue therapy, get a shot for the hip that stuff left in it (it hurts more than the one with nothing left!), and start plotting the replacement(s).

Got started changing out gutter screens, that I just had installed. They're just not suitable. Leaves stick to them, pile up, won't blow off. Dismal failure. I'll change the first floor runs that I can reach from a step ladder, maybe shame the guy who installed them, when he sees that mine work. Either way, I have to find someone who will do the second story, or do it myself, off an extension ladder. Wifey wouldn't like that.

@BkerChuck TY. Donating the Suzy is cool.

Good morning. Seafood pasta was a hit last night. My cousins are making bean soup for dinner tonight. Going to be delicious. One of the activities today is a stroll on the Ocean City boardwalk.

Old bodies and old cars seem to need constant repairs Hang in there!
Yep, $13,000 worth of gutter screens only to find out without a lot of wind they just pile up with tiny Honey Locust leaves. Patiently waiting on the fall winds to arrive.

I have a two full story and a basement house. So far it has helped keep me in reasonable shape just climbing stairs, but this last week doing my 1 minute of side straddle hop warmups I realized my 77 yo knees aren’t doing so well. Going to have to come up with a different warmup exercise.

Old age can be brutal, but there’s no better alternative. Everyone enjoy the time! Have a meaningful day!

I replaced junk gutters with Leaf Guard about a year before I got rid of the Ash trees and went solar. Worked great. With no trees, they are superb. If you have to buy something, that's all I would recommend period.

Yup, I keep hearing it's so wonderful, I'll be sorry I didn't do it yesterday! Considering I got 2 to do, I certainly hope so! :fingerscrossed:

:pccoffee: Good Morning and Hook 'Em Porch Pals and Sue! Man, seems like a long wait until prime time!

I don't have gutters. Never have. We've lived in 22 (?) houses in 6 states.

I have something over the front door in our present house that's open on both ends. Probably installed in the forties...

Donating the bike really worked out financially for him. Tax deduction for more than it likely would have sold for. Lifetime membership to the museum for him and he can take a guest to all events. Early admission to new exhibits.

Off to visit DIL and family today. Haven't seen them for a while. Wife cooked all day yesterday. Now to pack it all up for transport. It's a chore, but makes her happy, so I pitch in where I can. She likes to cook, but it's more of a chore these days.

Finished one string (R and R) of new gutter guards yesterday. Now the wait/see. Hope it works, but it means more ladder work, if it does.
