They won’t sell a bunch, so I’d guess that a $100k++ LX700h Overtrail edition exists in part to make a $65k Tacoma TH look like a bargain.

My first thought was to compare it to Land Rover, but I don't know anything about that segment of vehicles. Too poor

Question for all the people that have experienced the trail Hunter or own the trail Hunter. Can a hard cover be put on the bed with that roll cage bar behind the cab?

The ARB sport bar is a very well built piece of gear that makes sure it is the star of the show. No.

If you get rid of that sport bar, how would the barista at the Starbucks drive-through know that you paid 70 grand for a Toyota Tacoma?

On the other hand, if you leave it on, will the F150 drivers at Tractor Supply mistake you for a 40 grand Frontier Hardbody?

    First-world dilemma right there…

Toying with the idea to upgrade from my 2011 SR5.

The Toyota build website is very confusing. Is it true that there is no Access Cab (sorry, XtraCab) with 4x4 and manual transmission? Everything I click on forces me into a 5' bed and double cab.

Sadly, that's true. If I am not mistaken, a 4x4 ext cab with a manual hasn't been available since 2015.

Manual options are all double cab 5’ bed. Trims are SR, TRD Sport, and TRD Off-road.

MAX models still seem to be made of unobtainium.

So what's the deal with Toyota's relationship with JBL? Are the two companies like prison shower buddies (if you catch my drift) or what?

There's no way that anyone is going to convince me that JBL is the most bang-for-the-buck system they could be putting in their trucks.

The 4Gs look pretty solid which is a very good thing and I would expect an aluminum body truck to look worse from the same impact the passenger side would probably ripped all the way to the front of the bed.

With out trying to sound too much like a naysayer I've seen wrecks where people walked away from the kind of impacts that vehicles don't get tested for. Side impacts into trees or other stationary objects, pure luck they catch the B pillar and maybe they have time to get in a clear space inside the vehicle and are not trapped. Again I don't want to take away from how well that Tacoma held up in the crash.

Drove a TRD Sport iForce MAX today.

To be 100% honest: I didn't notice any performance increase whatsoever over the TRD Sport iForce that I drove a couple of months ago.
