I just got done splitting the wood in the metal basket to the right. I was in the shop riding my daughters hoverboard, (don’t tell her) and I rode to the back door and this big doe is standing there and starts eating grass.

I pondered the circumstances and said why not?

Went and grabbed the crossbow and put the stalk on her. Got to about 40 yards and she saw me and turned broadside. Just what I wanted.

I put the crosshairs on her and squeezed the trigger. Forgot a crossbow has a safety, had to click it off, she hasn’t moved.

I click, put the 2nd cross hair on her and squeeze. First time any of us have shot at a deer in Virginia.

I haven’t heard an arrow make that loud thumping sound in a long time.

I hate it when it hits a tree. Right over her back and down in the woods it went

I would have been good with the first line in my scope, she was about 40 but the first line is good to about there. It barely missed her, I don’t think she went down any, I just flat out missed.
