Good morning everybody! Have a fantastic Fanny Friday! Thank you for the congratulations.

    upload_2024-10-18_6-37-52.jpg

I had the girls again yesterday and it was the early shift due to my DiL needing to go to work early. I hit the ground running at 0445 and didn’t slow down until 2000 last night. My butt was dragging! I took an hour long nap when they did, that was nice lol.

Some laundry and a TSC run are on the agenda for this morning and that’s it for the day.

The license test worried me right off the bat, the first 5 questions were ones I had not seen on any of the practice tests I took :annoyed: Turns out I only missed 2 questions on the test so I must have guessed correctly. A few of the older members of the radio club have already told me to keep studying for the last level of licensing. I’ll think about it but I have all the frequency bands available now.

    Enjoy your day!

    Good Morning Blevin,
I find it peculiar that every retired guy I know seems busier after retirement than they were before they retired ... maybe I'll just keep working and collect more retirement checks. :notsure:

    ... I kid, 5 yrs more ... 7 tops. o_O :der:

Have a great Fanny Friday and weekend.:)

In my case I did the absolute minimum on anything not related to work for about 15 years.
Time has shown me that I was a dumbass by the way.

Good morning everybody, have a great Saturday!

Doggie school today, that’s it for me.

I’ve got several “projects” I still need to start that were put off while I was working. They will wait a little longer while I’m babysitting as I just don’t have the time to get them completed.

    Good Morning Blevin :hattip:
Hoozier and you have great time in school.
Funny you mention projects ... that was my focus on terminal leave when I retired from active duty; all the house projects I'd thought of and hadn't had time for on active duty. By end of the 1st week the Lowes people were calling me by name in the morning. When the bill came end of first month, my wife looked at me and said "Old Man you need to go back to work."
I reckon that's why I'm gonna stay in the civil service gig long enough to maximize my second retirement check, bored me spends money. Mind you, on worthwhile endeavors, but projects and hobbies all seem to come with a price tag. :notsure:

Have a great weekend folks. :)

Been living close to the bone since I retired at 52. It is a big pay cut.

2.5 years then I can spend my retirement $ without the penalties.

We have always lived very economically even when we both worked so retiring wasn't really too much of a change.

My blood pressure dropped 20+ points in the first two weeks so I'm very content to live a bit more frugally. :)

My tactic for avoiding workstress has been to stay in a worker role in my second career. First five years they kept asking me to apply for supervisor jobs to which I declined ... they quit asking the last 10 years ... I'm happy just doing the work without all the supervisor/management headaches.

There were some days I envied the workers - just do as you are told and go home.

My position came with a boat load of responsibility & stress but offered a lot of day to day freedom and opportunities to always be doing something different...

...like trying to create gold out of wood because my employer was so cheap...
