It's the Big Manistee river. I don't want to post the percise location in a general, open thread.

A private message I can be more detailed. I'm sure you understand.

Totally, no PM needed. Thanks! Grew up on the boarder of IN/MI. Lived in the UP for a while too. Miss it, just no work. MI is a beautiful state.

    Thank you.

There enough YouTube and Tictoc wannabe directors out there already posting the deets. I just don't want to be categorized with them.

I've been fishing this river every fall for 25 years. I spent lots of money and time doing it. I'm not comfortable giving away the info for free.

I'm not free, but I'm pretty cheap. A couple of beers and id spill all the info. Lol.

Lol I like to try and fish but I stink at it. I’d be happy just relaxing in the boat with good company, enjoying the outdoors, occasionally nodding off lol. Doing my old man bits lol

They do take some effort to get dialed in, but once done, you can haul ass laying down a weld.

You just have train your head that aluminum welds 3x faster than iron.

I ask a guy once how do you weld aluminum? He said hot and fast :D

They do take some getting used to, but do work and are better than nothing

It's nice that welding aluminum is 100% duty cycle.

You can weld non stop...until the person welding runs out of duty cycle.

Playing around with spool gun settings.

Been 6 years since I ran aluminum wire.

I guess it's evident that I'm building another boat.

I've had the materials taking up space for 3 years and am now just getting started on the beast.

If anyone has looked at the build process of my previous, they will notice that it's very similar. I am incorporating a few changes for this boat build.

The first change will be the width of the stern. This boat will have a wider stern.

The second change will be the floor. This boat will not have a flat floor, just a 30" wide strip of treated plywood wrapped with outdoor carpeting. I found the flat floor in the previous boat was a nice feature, but for the amount of work and materials needed, juice wasn't worth the squeeze.

The last change will be the outside coating. I'm going to save time and just wrap the hull with vinyl.

I am not sure what pattern/color/design I want to go. Please offer suggestions if you feel inclined.

    ...to be continued.
