I get all my yard work done by dinner. After 9 well. in bed by then. Whatever it is it can wait unless there’s deadfall across the driveway. Then I let the neighbors squirm and get excited before I fire up. Snow removal sometimes gets late but not anywhere near 9. Screw that. This guy needs his rest.

What kinda work you doin with them? I’m partial to some good ole leathers. I get Hardy’s at HF for like 10 bucks for 2 pair
upload_2024-10-19_17-12-25.jpgThe very best pair of work gloves I ever came across was Iron clad. Mechanix makes good ones but my last pair ripped early on so I kinda shied away from them.

If you don't do any or much welding, the canvass back leather gloves are the most comfortable. They great for wiping your brow when you sweat.

Always get a size bigger, since leather always shrinks.

I never cared for the leather palm, nylon backed gloves. They just good for lifting weights in the gym. The Velcro cuff is just stupid. The only time that is required is if you are sky diving. Gloves don't just fall off if you are actually working.

Harbor Freight has some leather TIG welding leather gloves that are just amazing comfortable! They remind me of driving gloves. I don't think they would have a very long life doing the things we do in this thread.

General work around the yard. Had some mechanix durahide gloves and they were amazing but the seems blew out on the fingers. Then have been using the cheap leather gloves from lowes(which work but they are super loose fitting)

I like the harbor freight price! Didn’t know if there are better gloves out there. Nothing like having your well broken in gloves blow a seem and then have to break in another pair.

Most comfy work gloves I ever had were motorcycle gloves I got on clearance, they were kangaroo leather with extra leather padding on the palm and had a mesh back so that your hands don't get sweaty. Wish I had bought all the pairs they had. Admittedly would have been horrid in a motorcycle wreck.

Best regular leather work gloves are these Milwaukee ones.

Those look nice! I love my lightweight Milwaukee gloves but the fingertips wore out doing construction work.

The Mileaukee ones are the same as my Stihl ones I had and yes the fingertips wore out fast.
I agree with Koditten I like a pull on glove with no straps or bullshit to fiddle with. I have gone through so many gloves I can’t remember all of them but bar none, but f you got 40 bucks or so to blow in a pair of gloves, ironclad makes a very durable pair of pull one that I miss. They literally used them a full winter and that is impressive in my standards.

I was at the local Whistle workwear buying boots and I fell upon a pair they had on the hook. It was a little expensive but I just did it and damn they were seriously well built gloves. I work in mud and sticks and grease and they had zero issues with metalwork to yardwork. They were my go to gloves and I left them in an excavator on a jobsite I got called away from and I missed them dearly. My loss but I’ll eventually get another pair because I was thoroughly satisfied with their durability

These are the exact pair I had. In fact I’m going to order a pair to see if they hold up like the last ones

I highly recommend shark vacuums, mine has tons of suction and can be easily disassembled to get to any clogs in just a few minutes without any tools. Dyson look futuristic and cool with that damn ball design but since they came out with that needlessly complicated design they are a pain to fix if there is a issue, especially taking it apart if there is a clog.

I stocked up on gloves right before I retired. Ordered several dozen pairs of kevlar cut level5 for everyday work. They are great for anything involving chain or regular steel work. You can still pick up a dime with them & feel your fingers with no issues of getting cut.

Leather is still the only answer for welding though.

And the oil filter saga for this Kohler twin continues. Thought I found a filter I can get locally would work without rubbing the steering arm. That has been a nope.

So, I just broke down and ordered a couple Baldwin's that I know work. Couple dollars higher, but I'll combine them with other filters for various vehicles and it equals out.

Any other mower with this engine there is no issue at all. However MTD decided to design it this stupid way for some reason. I'm not paying $15 for the Kohler filter. In hindsight playing oil filter bingo I probably should have :anonymous:
