His is cool but I need something more mild. I use my truck to get firewood off my property all the time and to get steel/lumber/ random building supplies.

Have a rough design going. Will have under body boxes and also drop in sides with some sort of tailgate

Like that a lot! I think the box/drawers that Nathan used in his comes in different sizes. Probably be able to find one that tucks between the frame rails, under the flat bed.

Have you thought about fold-down sides like a kei truck? I'm in love with the fold down sides and tailgate on mine. Super cool that if you leave the tailgate up and fold down the sides, the tailgate chains hold the sides horizontal, adding nearly a foot of bed space width to each side.

I did but I don’t really know how to do it with the dovetailed bed. Got overly complicated making them solid and not rattle or anything when they are up.

Yeah NY does emissions when you get the inspection sticker so I'd have to make all of that work to stay road worthy, but if you can shove the factory stuff in a cell and have it work that's pretty huge. I lurk the LT thread and saw the discussion about the front basically capping at that travel number until you basically redo all the geometry and move to a different spindle design, I'd love to have some decent ifs travel since this truck is the daily for the foreseeable future, and I don't want to hate the ride... like jack said, keeping it mild is probably the best course of action (until I change my mind, again :anonymous:)

I don't know what your timeline is, but holler at any time. There are a few good ways to navigate that. Looks like you're designing in SketchUp? If so, feel free to send me the file and I'll toss the concept into CAD for you. Could be a really neat setup with fold-downs on that sleek tapered shape.

You have the pump and sending unit in the tank as one piece, which will maintain use of your fuel gauge. That can be installed in a proper height fuel cell. The evap system consists of 2 "boxes" with a few hoses interconnecting them, and a single harness plug. All of that stuff fits in a out the space that a shoe box takes up. By extending two hoses and the wires to that single plug, you can mount the stuff anywhere you want, as long as it's above the vent on the fuel cell.

On-road, the LT drives very similar to my extended icons and no swaybar. Again, it's not broken in, but I thought there would be more added body roll. And I'm on the softer side with my springs.

I use solidworks. I think I should start it this winter at least.

Ah, I don't currently have a license for solidworks. Happy to chat about some options if you decide you want to attempt the fold down bedsides. You know where to find me :)

Sounds good, I think I want to keep it simple at first. If I want them later the welder is sitting right inside.

Dope day. Worth the 7 hours of driving and I say that specifically to highlight the value that the truck mafia just shovels out the door during mod day. Doing it alone would have taken me two or three full days easy, watching it get done in a couple of hours (including paint drying) was crazy.

@crashngiggles I didn't notice it necessarily on the turn off your block, but that 100 degree left turn on the way out of your neighborhood definitely had me going "Aha! It's real!"

The longass drive home gave me time to feel it out some more, and I want to hit a couple spots more local to me to be able to articulate it better, but for now I think the best way to describe it is that the CG feels lower, even though it obviously is not actually.
