It was a loooong wait in traffic to get through the security check point. Parking was a bit slow too but oversized vehicles got priority so the van jumped me ahead of a lot of people lol

I found a peace! Took a picture and left it behind. Shits radioactive and while a couple hours there isn't gonna harm you, you don't want to bring that shit home with you. Probably illegal too.

It was a cool experience. I did struggle with the fact that what the site represents, and yet you have a long line of families posing with the obelisk and smiling like they are posing with Mickey mouse at Disneyland. Seemed a little fucked up but I think probably more that many don't understand it.

Sigh tig welding is hard. Fixing some cracks on the front axle of my buggy. Upper link mounts had started to crack at the axle. They weren’t boxed

The parts of that truck I like and wish were available on our models are the full clear glass, rear carrier and cloth seats. Outside of that I think it's cool, but don't personally have an interest. Like you said, novelty.
Besides, if I get another 4wd suv I'd really like a two door short wheelbase, not vintage, which only leaves me three options.

Those are really tall link mounts for not having a support tower or truss

Yeah totally. They weren’t even boxed. The short side started to tear off above the 3rd. The really tall one is connected to the ram mount which is helpful. However I found a couple cracks.

Yeah 100% agree. Olivia loves playing with them. The cats and dogs eat them when they get dragged in then through up.

I'm running out of excuses not to install that replacement power steering rack. Picked up 2 quarts of ATF+4 a couple days AGO, figured I'd use the same stuff that's in my transmission so I don't need to add an extra spare fluid to the toolbox. I've had a bushing kit on the parts shelf for probably 2 years now and the new mounting bracket showed up last night. IMG_20241020_132640.jpg
It's still in the plastic so hopefully I don't get banned.

The current power steering fluid old, I've never changed it and when I got the truck there was a thin layer of brown sludge on top of the reservoir I'm assuming from cross contamination with different fluid types. Luckily that was easy enough to clean out just by wicking it up with paper towels.
I'm wondering if now would be a good time to clean the internal screen in the pump since I'll be draining the fluid anyway and it's probably never been serviced. I know I've seen people mention doing this but I'm not familiar with the cleaning process.
