and home.
last night of camping was awesome, glad i didnt give up just yet.
the snowstorm on wednesday night helped settle a lot of fires so the smoke cleared out and the skies were clear for the first time in ages.
was a little cooler than i'd care for this morning but i had the camp to myself and had lots of good campfire time. and i had an owl visit me at some point this morning, woke me up as it was in a tree close to me where it decided to sit and talk for maybe a half hour or so. took the scenic way home and stopped to fish for a bit.

now the "fun" part of clearing out the camper and getting it ready for winter.

 

that area is not anywhere close to places i like to go. but yeah, it did freak me out a bit. i was at a state park campground that is staffed 24/7 and is "closed" at night so no random traffic in after hours.

the sheriff's dept keeps asking for anyone that has a dash cam that was on the highway that day to check for his truck on their camera footage - it was pretty recognizable with a ladder rack and whatnot - so i think they're trying to figure out if he was alone when he was driving there or if he picked someone up. and then who? hitchhiker? friend? friend of a friend? with as much traffic as that area sees and the current living situation - or lack there of - in the area my gut says someone living in their camper in that area maybe got into a confrontation with him and lost their shit then packed up and cleared out. if it were me i wouldn't be looking for his truck on dach cams but a RV going like a bat out of hell. or if my theory is right and it was someone living in their camper did they have a job and just mysteriously not show up for work last week?
