Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll absolutely take that advice and start a thread with some photos of my truck once I can get some good pics. To answer your question about rust, I don't think there's a ton. I got a full frame replacement during the recall a few years ago, so I know the frame is g2g at least. About non-OEM parts, I was hoping I would be able to save some money and get pre-painted aftermarket stuff from somewhere like paintedautoparts. Would you recommend not doing that at all or just for plastic parts, etc?

    Thanks!

Looks like the big link to the "Front Bumper + Bumper Flares + Lower Grille + Upper Grille + Headlight Fillers + Upper Bumper Brackets Left & Right + Fog Lights -" Has been removed from eBay. Best alternatives to get those parts now?

Because the complet bumper kit is not available for viewing, was curious if anyone knows a part number for the side mounting bumper brackets? These brackets mount on the front edge of the fender, and I can’t find them. Pic related. Or I just need to know if they fit for the 2.0 and the 2.5.IMG_3362.jpg

Just updated the thread. You won't need to swap out the plastic fender to bumper brackets. Those are the same from 2005-2015 Let me know if you have any other questions!

First off, big thanks to OP for the original post, for updating it, and for responding to questions for the past 5 years. I'm mostly done with the conversion on my 2005, just looking to upgrade some other parts of the truck before she's complete. Here are some additional notes from my own experience which, for the most part, was very straightforward with the info from this post.
    • OEM vs Aftermarket - I'm cheap, so I sourced all aftermarket parts from Ebay, got them all painted at a shop, and to my surprise...everything fit just fine.
    • Hood Latch wasn't needed. The one I sourced didn't function that great, so I just used the old one and it worked fine.
    • Fog lamps - the 2012 ones I got take an H11 plug. The 2005 plug is an H10. You can find adapters on Ebay. I just hardwired mines because I couldn't wait lol.
    • Rivets for Bumper Reinforcement will be the 1/4" size which is larger than the typical rivet guns. I had to buy a new one from Ebay - luckily was just $20.
Not including the paint, and the headlights/foglights because I splurged on those, I spent ~$1.5k on the conversion. Worth it IMO, looks like a new truck. I'll also be able to make some of it back by selling my old OEM parts.

EDIT: I also didn't replace the fender liners. I thought the OEM ones fit fine and I already did a significant amount of trimming to them.

With the the grille, I can only find the insert, but I can’t find the paintable surround molding. Did you buy the insert and then a regular grille assembly?

I wasn’t able to find just the grille surround when purchasing everything. I bought a regular grille just to remove the frame and install it on the TRD pro insert I also purchased.

I have brand new subframe parts for a 2012-2015 for sale. I hit a deer and the body shop ordered them anyway after I told them I wanted to put on an aftermarket bumper. So they are brand new and collecting dust.

Yeah if those are OEM I’ll totally take them off your hands. How much you want for them and shipping?

How'd this come out? I'm looking at doing the swap with an aftermarket steel bumper, and was trying to figure out what parts I'm not going to need in the list.
    Thanks man!
