The "making doctor appointments yourself" is too real though, I'm so bad about it. I've had my dental appointment setting reminder postcard sitting on my desk at work for 3 months

    You're not lying

I'm grateful for the automated scheduling as I just requested to reschedule Theo's appointment via text last night

They had him set for 3pm, while the VA set my appointment for 415pm

I sure as hell wasn't going to wait another 2-3 months for my MRI

The fact that I have to find all new dentist, eye doctor and regular doctor is killing me in the new town.

I at least got a new dude to cut my hair. Guy told me about all the towns he has lived in in NM... I then asked, "aren't those where all the prisons are?". "Yeah I toured around". Best barber so far lol

Test drove another GX470. Only light on is the TPMS, everything else is fine. Center diff lock worked fine. No cracks in dash. Fancy dark interior. No rust, spent half its life in San Diego. Air bags already deleted. And $1500 less than the one with failing brakes. Is an 07 so it has the bluetooth and AUX input already.

Downsides - I can't verify any timing belt changes, and no trailer hitch. Paint is kind of beat up, but thats kind of my jam.

We had this crappy chinese 4 seater one and a 2 seater flatbed EZ-Go. They decided to pay a shop to install a lithium battery in one of them.

    upload_2024-10-22_21-11-0.jpg

I asked for the ez-go because if I’m removing 20 servers from our data floor then I’d prefer it. Not to mention I never have more than one person with me. Oh and it’s a tank like you said, just crappy battery life 10 years into its life. Nah, they souped up the crappy lifted one that doesn’t have any cargo capacity.

I've seen two different hitch designs for GX470s.

A Class III (part #51909-35011) that bolts on to the rear cross member. It's the same hitch used on 2003+ 4Runners and FJ Cruisers. Lexus only lists it as compatible with 03-04 GX, but some aftermarket versions list compatibility with 03-09. Should be easy to source one at a junkyard, you'd just need to remove/modify/replace the center insert in the bumper.

A Class IV (part #PT22860540) that attaches to the longitudinal frame rails. Normal stuff, still probably not hard to install, just less likely to be available for cheap from a junkyard.

Bluetooth/aux is a big win. My buddy's stuck using a cassette adapter in his '04 with the factory nav.

Gonna listen to it on my walk with Dex here soon. Weird that it’s starting at 8pm. I don’t remember a game ever starting that late out here on Pacific time.

I have a bluetooth module in mine that works perfect - connected to the factory radio, it thinks it's one of the discs in the factory 6-disc changer.

It's a marketing thing. All 32 teams are playing tonight. This way ESPN can do 3 games.

some kid in a single cab ram pulled up in front of me at the house while coming back from the gas station. I didn't think anything of it and made it to the front porch before I heard him crunching through the leaves as he beelined to my sisters car, looked in the windows, and hustled back to his truck

    hmmmmm
