I recommend the 12 volt kind. Wally World EverStart Max is a solid choice with a solid warranty. And there is a Wally World in just about every fucking town in America if you have a warranty issue. It's really a no-brainer decision.

I don't know if it is standard practice at ALL walmarts, but my local store, if you bring in a battery that's giving you problems and still under warranty, they will make you wait for around 4-5 hours while they charge and test it.

We have to replace batteries every 2 years in Arizona.
I just go to Wmart and buy the NeverStart.

It's a reasonable price and it works.

I wouldn't put the AGM battery in there, no need plus they are a bit more expensive.

I go to the one without an auto center. I unhook it in the parking lot and wheel the bad battery to the isle. Then load the new one, pay and bring the old right to the customer service department. Repeat this process after 2 years 364 days.

Just get something made by Deka/East Penn or Interstate. If you have a BJ's Wholesale membership you can get an Interstate Gold battery in club for not much more than $100.
I have a Toyota Sure start That my servicing Dealer Hanover Toyota gave me as a warranty replacement when the OEM factory one was leaking too much. 3 years and zero issues with it, it supposed to be an 84 month warranty battery. no clue what the dealership charges for it though.

When my battery died in 2022, I wanted the Platinum Series, but Advance Auto only had the Gold Series for my truck.

The biggest advantage to an AGM is resistance to damage/ failure from vibration. No battery is ever charged 100% by your car’s alternator either.
Some vehicles with the battery in the passenger compartment specify AGM so that you don’t get covered in acid if the car flips.
Project Farm tested a bunch of batteries and the Walmart Everstart Max blew everything out of the water, including AGM, optima, etc. I just put a 24F Everstart Max in my truck last week. Rated @ 850 cranking amps above 32 degrees, I tested it at 1020 cranking amps.
    For 139.00 dollars it’s a solid choice.

I have interstate batteries in my motorhome. 2 house batteries and 1 regular battery for the E450 chassis. All new from 2019 and check out just fine. I've been waiting for them to go kaput for 2 years now but they just keep going without issue. When my Tacoma battery does eventually need replacement I'll look for an interstate if available.

The Interstate brand is not what it used to be. I learned the hard way when a car battery failed in about two years then working with the Interstate shop did not work out.

Vibration from average off-road use is why I've used Optima Red-Top AGMs across multiple vehicles for many years. If I wasn't driving North Georgia forest roads, I'd buy the Everstart Max.

Never had an issue at all with mine. I do leave them charging 24/7 in the motorhome. Still hold a strong charge when boondocking in non full hook up campsites. Those are deep cycle house batteries. The chassis battery is just a standard battery but still being 6 years old figured it'd be dead by now. Put one in my Wrangler also a couple years ago without issue. That said I'm not sure anything these days are as good as they used to be.

The vibration thing is real also many Diesel vehicles spec the AGM battery too sometimes . My old 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD 4x4 came with an Optima red top from the factory. The 4 cylinder turbo diesel vibrated more than the gas v6, it took more power to start in cold weather too. The best AGM battery I had in that was the Diehard Platinum AGM, then sold by the OG Sears Auto center. It lasted over 7 years. My local Sears didn't outlast that battery. Of course the DieHard brand name was sold off to the highest bidder so I can't say if the quality is the same. Back then it was known that Odyssey made that battery for Sears, who knows if they still make it for Advance Auto Parts. My experience with their batteries, brake rotors, starters and Alternator's has not been confidence inspiring. I buy parts now from NAPA or Rock Auto and get most of my oils, fluids, filters and cleaning stuffs from Walmart. At $139 if I wanted an AGM battery I'd probably go with the Everstart MAX, seems like a steal to me.

Interstate does not make its own batteries. Whoever made them 6 years ago, may not be the same company. Wal-Mart's 35 size manufacturer changed from Johnson Controls to Exide in 5.5 years since I had bought the prior battery for my wife's RAV.

In Florida heat batteries don’t last. Used to be a big Interstate fan but they have not lasted in recent years. Switched to Diehard AGM in my Honda and no issues, no corrosion which is prevalent with heat and was told in my research they are the best not only for vibration but better for hotter climate conditions. My OEM has some corrosion and suspect needs replacing soon. Never heard of the charging system not working enough for a AGM battery or now needing a tune? Seems a bit ridiculous to me but what do I know. Any references to this ?

I carry a power pack in my truck. It was at 100% when I had to jump mine off yesterday. Only dropped it to 99%

I will say this, i’ve been offroading with my stock battery for 4 years until i had to replace it and I have corrosion on the metal below the battery from the juice splashing out of the vents so keep that in mind

Keep an eye on it. If its one of the lithium ones you can end up with a puffed battery pack and fire hazard.

What's worse is someone else's battery was being checked before mine...
so.... I did something else. Bought a new battery, took it out to the truck, took my receipt back in, went in got another battery, took it to the service desk and asked for a refund.
Told them it was the wrong size...:notsure:
