To each their own! In my opinion, 20s just don't look right on the Tacoma. Doesn't matter if it's 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Gen... Change my mind.

    Dustin,
Envy – Envy! Super nice choice in wheels - like your 8" choice. Gunmetal color wheels brightens visual appearance of your Taco IMHO. Go ahead and doll-up the caps, - easy enough to do - or redo. As you see by my profile photo, FJ caps did it for me.

Enjoy, drive it like you stole it!

So, I just did the emblems in gunmetal Plasti Dip to try to pull the whole look together. I did 5 coats of gunmetal and 2 coats of clear gloss. Turned out pretty sweet! At least I think so. What do you think? Better than chrome?

It almost looks black in the second photo, but it totally looks gunmetal in person. Matches the wheels perfectly.

They don't come with TRD center caps?

good to know the 265 70 17 can stretch from 17x7.5 to 17x8
not sure why I always thought the OEM 5-spoke 17's were 17x8.
Am not sure what dimensions are better or why.
On street cars wider wheels usually means better grip in flat turns,
IDK if Toyota designed it narrow to take up less room on a trail without hitting anything

I wonder how hard it was for the shop re-mounting the tires to swap over TPMS
Costco Tire Center has a stock of TPMS service kits, and Toyota probably does too, but not every shop probably.
(plastic bag with new crush washer, rubber gasket, valve core, etc.)

    looks like an X-runner

I think the color of the wheels looks perfect against the color of your truck. Small details like matching the emblems only helps tie things in even further.

They don't come with TRD center caps because that's trademarked by Toyota. There's several places online that sell the center cap decals. I'm just trying to decide which color to order.

I'm sure Toyota has to do the narrower wheel size to comply with regulations that the wheels must be covered by the fenders. They couldn't stick out from the factory.

thanks for these pics. the poke on those wheels is almost the same (1.7mm) as the sema/4runner wheels. looks great. that's exactly how far i wanted my wheels to stick out

Sorry for bumping old thread--was curious, OP, if you were still happy with these wheels and they have held up OK since your post? Also are you running a 2in front level, or bilstein lift? It's hard to tell from the camera angle.

Same here. Also, do you know the load capacity per wheel. I just bought replicas and the load capacity is 1686 lbs per wheel which seem low for truck wheels. The OEM wheels of that design have a 2100 lb load capacity
