Some more photos. I was able to persuade my girlfriend to get behind the wheel for a few roller shots. This was somewhere near Tofte.

Lamb's Resort... definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The waterfront campgrounds there are perfect.

We took some random turns in the national forest... lots to explore there. We camped at Fourmile Lake one of the nights.

Toohey Lake had warnings at every campsite not to feed the resident fox family. And who did we meet before getting on our way?

Another highlight was the gondola at Lutsen Mountains.

Can't wait to visit again! Sometime soon I'll post more to instagram (@erikjohnsonphoto). I have a feeling the North Shore is going to become an annual destination for me.

Oh man, the last night we were there the wind was intense. We slept in my GFC in the national forest and I thought the wind was going to destroy the camper every few minutes or so. I hardly got any sleep. It didn't help that there was a ton of lightning the night before and we were both leery that a fire might start somewhere.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
You didn't happen to drive the Gandy Dancer Trail on the 6th, did you? My wife and I took our side by side from Danbury, WI to just shy of Superior and on our way back a kitted out Tacoma was driving north on the trail. Just curious if that was you guys?

Glad to hear it all worked out and you kept safe, at times acorns were hitting our house so hard it sounded like hail. Beautiful photos you take!

Nope not us, We did head back home to Nebraska from Lutsen on Sunday the 6th, but wouldn't have been on that trail.

Glad we got to experience the fall colors before that, those winds must have brought down a lot of leaves. And thank you!

Anyone interested in joining for trips out west? A buddy and I are looking to find some more like-minded folk with capable rigs to start making an annual group trip. We are by no means experts, but we are experienced enough. Typically try to keep a 5 or lower trail rating as we still have to drive it home also.

This year we explored Utah for a week. Next year we are thinking about tackling the Wyoming BDR.

I went to school until 2nd grade in PR. Still have family there. I have family around DL as well. My dad grew up in Frazee.

Right now the plan for 2025 is the WYBDR. Just shy of 1000 miles from the southern Wyoming border to northern border, roughly 80% is off pavement. I haven't started planning anything yet so unsure when exactly. Spring runs the risk of the northern portion being impassible, summer runs the risk of mid-day thunderstorms storms and high temps, fall can either be really wet or early snows. I'll start the planning process soon though. I'm thinking it will be 6-8 days to complete depending on how much time is spent hiking and exploring (not including travel days to and from).

Might also be worth checking with the Wisconsin crew. They’ve done a few group trips

This was my visit to Utah when the truck was still mostly stock! I drove with my father from Colorado, we went through Moab, we stayed there Xmas eve and Xmas day, if one has the capability of ever doing it on those days I highly recommend it. Of course the entire town is closed, but not a soul anywhere you wanna go

I seriously can't wait to go back. Every state has their "thing", but Utah is just on another level when it comes to exploring and off-road.

I was just reading an article that Utah is trying to sue BLM for holding onto land with no real designation for it, and multiple other western states are getting behind it also. I get it, thats a lot of land that can't be taxed by the state, but I don't want to see all these areas closed down and not accessible by becoming private.

It is a Habitat, it’s nice. There’s some things I’d like different but in the 7yrs of ownership I’ve never regretted it.

    Howdy folks!
I am getting back into the forum life after tuning out for a few years.

I have somewhat recently relocated back to MN (Duluth to be specific) after living in Montana and Oregon for about ten years.

It would be sweet to meet up with fellow MN TW dudes at some point for some camping, although I know we are entering the cold times, haha.

A few pics from the summer of camping and exploring.

If anyone's ever passing through Duluth hit me up!
