    Oh i agree on "pass"

I think the available over plates are a great solution for that guy.

But all the ones ive aeen in that state usually also have some holes or thin spots up front that make saving the frame properly a real chore that most dont undertake.

So basically the bed was keeping the frame in one piece. Sad thing is, the hardest part about a frame swap is finding the frame.

I was spoiled - I'd get all my new tires at warehouse pricing when I used to work at a dealership

Now I'm looking at them with a mere military discount and still $300/each like damn

Yeah I liked the Falken 3's I had on the Tacoma

Just thought I'd like at other tires I used to run

Maybe I can look for some new take-offs, I'll have to browse around

I got the set on the 4runner from this guy. Sold the take offs for $1,000 with 200 miles on them.

Was at the dealer today to test a 2 door Big Bend. I hadn't been able to get any extended time in one previously. The 2.3 is peppier than I was expecting. Size of the console screen surprised me, kinda hoped it was smaller but I guess you get used to it, at least there are knobs and buttons for important things. Salesman thought the trail turn assist button was for a rear locker, that was entertaining.

A 24 right? I think starting in 24 they all get the larger screen, it used to be a buy up. So what it only comes with trail turn and rear locker? I almost feel like they NEED front lockers to be able to get unstuck in rock fields due to the clearance issues I noted.

Costs $1800, is plastic, and you still have to assemble and paint it yourself

Yeah '24, so that makes sense re: the screen. Doesn't have a rear locker though, it's now a standalone option I think for like $750 if you don't want the full Sasquatch package, but the one I looked at was a pretty bare bones 10 speed. Local spots seem to get so many more 4 doors versus 2 doors, so unless you order its kinda slim picking on trying one out / getting the options you want or don't want.

Funny you mention this. I complained to Discount Tire customer service about our two locations and my experience with the 265/75R16 set of S/T Maxx I’ve had issues with this last year.

One tire was replaced immediately after purchase for requiring 16oz+ of wheel weights. The second tire needs like 14oz and I’ve brought the truck back 5+ times. The guys kept telling me that amount of weight was normal for such an “aggressive” tire. I’d had enough and after the vibrations got way worse after rotating the bad tire to the front I went back one last time. Finally they admitted that one wouldn’t balance. But it took many visits and 10K miles with all the trips I’ve had this year.

The verdict was that they’d offer me credit towards another set of tires. But the manager is steering me away from the Maxx, claiming it’s too aggressive for such a little truck. I feel like they’ve just taken me for a ride by not admitting to a faulty tire during initial mounting.

    That, is ridiculous.

I remember reading about a few of your complaints, but to say it's too aggressive for "such a little truck" is laughable.

@eon_blue ran what, two sets through his Tacoma, and was the reason why I got them on my 4Runner. I don't recall many weights being used either (think I posted it about it in my 4R thread).

Sucks you had to deal with all that.

With your credit, what are you gonna be looking at for your next set? I was looking at Cooper ST Maxx or Toyo Open Country ATIIIs but at $300/ea I should look at cheaper options. I'll never wheel with the GX.
