The GX is the truck that is in high demand around here. V8 power -- Toyota reliability -- small footprint.

They seem to have a weird following here as well.

Surprised I don't see more 4th Gen 4Runners being modified than GX where I'm at.

Give me a single cab truck, I'd rather wheel that instead

You and Dan are the only ones short enough to fit in the damn things. I try to drive my buddys 91 single cab and I can't hardly use the pedals, my knees are all up in the dash and steering wheel

Somehow I think the mineral rights to land in the Smackover formation have been bought up long ago. That was originally oil fields. If there is a correlation, Bakersfield CA may become a big lithium reserve.

I'd call it cozy, at least for me

But I get it, being 5'9 or taller with legs to match will make you hate the thing

Haven't had the urge to swap the seat on the GX, but I do miss the aftermarket seat from time to time

They determined that there are huge deposits of lithium out in the middle of the desert here under the Salton Sea. It's a protected area currently, but if they ever decide to start mining it that destitute and incredibly impoverished area is going to go through a huge economic boom.

Basically a wasteland currently but the "sea" itself is its own delicate ecosystem. They tried making it into a casino/resort town back in the 50s and it failed spectacularly, mostly a ghost town now.

I need to swap the front seats of the 4runner, they are killing me. If we move further away and my commute gets longer those seats are going to put me in a wheelchair, they are horrible lol.

Ahh that's right, you have the manual seats right?

Here's how I rank Toyota seats (in my own experience) -

    Sparco > GX470 > Land Cruiser > 4Runner > Tacoma

The 4R was a limited so it had the lumbar option.

The Tacoma seat was the least comfortable out of all my old Yota's. Although I'd say the LC and 4R were pretty similar so not much of an upgrade from one to the next.

I don't 100% agree with that. I am 6'2 and drove the 97 as a daily till 2014. With bucket seats It wasn't that bad. That being said not being able to recline the seats like in the extra cab does kind of suck.

Yeah I think the seats are of the lowest trim offered in the 1st year of production on them. They are flatter than pancakes with no support at all. My Tacomas seats feel like luxury seats comparatively.

That area here is in similar economic shape. Though some of the shale gas boom built some new big houses with pools in the north east part of the state.

You can have my set of power seats. They just need new covers. Foam is all in good shape.

That would be awesome, thanks man. I will have to devise a way to get them down here lol. Might have to see if I can Taco express them, not sure when we'll be doing a trip up there next with everything going on currently

yeaa they're not too aggressive looking but the number of sipes is super for the snow we get here

i towed a loaded 40ft gn over monarch pass in the snow with the LTX, and my shorty trailer over vail pass in the snow multiple times

I'm sure the weight of the truck helps but they actually do better than the ATs I replaced them with
