All I know about it is FortNine allows them as an advertiser (historically very picky about who they take their money from) and Ari Henning rents out his v-strom on it. Are you looking to rent a bike or rent yours out?

If that weight figure is even close to being right that could be a killer bike. Even 405 lbs for the non-rally version is wild. It'll be interesting to see how accurate that figure is once it gets into reviewer's hands.

That does look pretty cool and I really like the Yellow paint scheme as it reminds me of the old Yamaha race colors. Only one dealer in PA or MD so that's a little concerning for me. I've also been reading that there's talk of blocking the import of certain Chinese manufactured street bikes coming soon so that would be of concern to me as well.

I’m going to California in a couple weeks and want to rent a bike while I’m out there. Doesn’t seem like many rental places nearby and someone I called recommended that site. I signed up and messaged a few people already. It seems legit and good to hear a couple trustworthy endorsements.

Interesting read. But I don’t see how it’s any different with any other import bike / vehicles. Yes, there are other countries that would love to get any info from us. But what’s not to say that one country doesn’t share with another, without us knowing about it.

Iconic Motorbikes is offering a new rental program on some GS models. Maybe give them a shout if that’s the sort of thing you’re looking to ride.

Thanks just called but they only rent out of Santa Monica which is too far south, I'll be up in Oakhurst. I’m open to different bikes and probably just a one day rental. So far on Riders share the closest/cheapest option is a Kawi Concours which would be great to cruise on.

Yeah up in Oakhurst... I think it was pretty far from you and the guys here but would love to meet if it worked. I'm going to a wedding and visiting family then will have a few days to explore around Yosemite and wherever else. Hoping to rent a motorcycle for a day but need to figure out when, where, and if I want to check a bag to bring gear with me.

absolutely loved it. I spent the first day working with the suspension tech to get it properly set up for myself which made a huge difference in confidence with the bike. Took it easy the first day, then started pushing it by the second. Figured out the previous owner had regular brake pads on there, while I’m much more used to race pads that are on the R3 and BMW so I was going easy on the braking partially due to unfamiliarity and partially to avoid any potential fade. I can see why they’re so revered for the track though. Absolute weapon.

did have a little mishap on the r3 at the Aprilia event, was really pushing it on a lap midday and throttled a bit too hard at lean over a tar snake. Low sided and the bike slid for a bit on the asphalt. Overall damage isn’t too bad, wheel needs to be realigned as it’s skewed, and some fairing damage but in true race fashion I’ll probably zip tie them as a fix. Gear kept me perfectly safe, just a minor bruise on my shin where the bike initially landed on me

Here's my trackday contribution from Monday. Turns out the Tuono makes a shitty dirtbike.

Still haven't watched all of my footage. I'll see what I have of @TacoTyusday and I cutting it up.

Lookin good man, three days in a row was a workout! Glad the R3 mishap was only minor. I’ve been thinking about a dedicated track bike and how it would be nice not having to prep every time

Yeah I've definitely been feeling it since getting home :bananadead:. Even sunday i was pretty fatigued but well worth it. Mines still road worthy so i do have to do a little tape prep but otherwise it's p much ready to go. I'm still iffy on if i wanna zombie stitch the bike or get some track fairings...but I feel like they've got another crash in em lol

Trying to see if I can lure @gnarthirty2 out to Streets of Willow again in a few weeks :bikewheelie:

30 degrees when I woke up, probably about 34 when I rode in. I took the S1000XR and the grip heaters are plenty warm, but definitely missed the seat heater thats on the F800GS :bananadead: My buns were cold :anonymous:

I’m about 3 hours away by the coast. @FreshOldTaco if you make it out that way let me know! I can take you on all the local fun riding roads around here. A bigger bike like a Concours would be perfect for some of our roads.

Glad to hear you weren’t hurt! I’m a little nervous for Buttonwillow, I’ve heard the pavement isn’t great. I have a friend who went down at BW a few weeks ago after hitting some bad pavement on a curb. He was fine but the bike flipped and was totaled.

Thanks, yeah got pretty lucky I think. For the most part it's not bad, there's just a couple turns that are a little sketchy. The Off Ramp, has a weird bumpy strip on the inside of the turn that would unsettle the bike. so you have to go wide...which leads you right into a few tar snakes, one of which is what took me down. As far as I can remember, the only other sketchy area was around the last sweeper just before the esses, couple tar snakes there to avoid as well. The track could definitely use a re-pave though.

The track layout however is kinda conducive to running off at several places in my opinion. couple blind uphill turns I could easily see someone coming in too hot and overshooting, especially if they don't know the lines well yet. Around the Riverside turn, the track asphalt kinda blends into the dirt. End of the sweeper cuts in a little tighter, lots of people don't realize at first and end up hopping the next curb. Luckily there's plenty of runoff space all around.

Did you end up running timing there? Curious to know what your R3 times were.
