Yeah I live in Maine so we don’t have a dedicated OTT tuner up here. Thankfully one comes up here pretty frequently and he’s coming on the 26th to do the OTT tune for the 87mm pulley.

I used a heavy duty 1" motorcycle tied down, as a strap wrench, choked the pulley and hooked to the frame I think. worked well, with a regular torque wrench.

I have the tune! I’m going to start on the install tonight so hopefully it’s supercharged by this time tomorrow.

Install was a breeze! I can definitely understand why people don’t like the Maggy tune. You really have to get into the pedal to feel the supercharger. I’m excited to get the OTT tune to open up some of that power.

My man delivered within 24 hours. Great job!
Keep us posted on the tune after your 100 miles or whatever it is. 87 pulley off the get go?

I reached out to my tuner to schedule an appointment and he put me in contact with John at OTT so he could just send me the tune. I tuned it last night and went with the mild-medium 87mm pulley tune. I put a few hundred miles on the Magnuson tune over the weekend and was left completely underwhelmed. It’s a totally different truck now. It has much better low end throttle response and when you get into the pedal…WOW. I’m excited to do some normal day to day driving so I can get a feel for the OTT tune. Next on this list is a regear!

I also saw erratic behavior in my MT at low RPM's just cruising from a stop light for example. Engine would want to "surge" is the best way to put it, between 2nd and 3rd and 3rd and 4th with light acceleration.

Long story short, the OTT tune has taken care of all the small wrinkles and more, you'll be happy. 87mm pulley also gave me just that little extra.

I had the same experience with my 3.4 TRD charger. Completely depressed with the lack of power, up until I did the 7th injector kit. That woke the truck up so much!
Can’t wait to do the maggy on the 3.5

The best way I can describe it with my experience so far is this is how the truck should have come from the factory.

when I was on 33’s - I said the same thing after I did gears and OTT…then I went to 35s lol. That was my fault tho.
I’ve always said if this truck had 50 more hp and tq, I’m pretty sure it’d do exactly what I need to. hopefully next year I can swing this ordeal

When I took the hose out for the restrictor the restrictor was lodged in halfway the hose. No wonder my SC felt like it was slacking.

Did you remove it completely or put it back in?

I’m curious as well. I thought I had read somewhere in this thread that removing it wasn’t a good idea but I can remember the reasoning.

I didn’t like the way it felt removed when I was towing. Going from light throttle to off throttle was a harsh transition.

Seems like everybody’s saying to install the 87mm pulley. I’ve been debating it lately. Did it change your fuel economy at all? I don’t want to lose any more range out of my tank.

It’s a small sample size, but I just drove a few hours north to do some hunting and I was averaging 21.5 MPG. The driving was mostly 45-50 MPH, some backroads, lots of incline and no highway. I have been running 93 octane for a few months now in preparation for the supercharger and I was averaging around 19-20 MPG. It’s only been a few weeks, but in town driving it seems to have stayed about the same if not a little better. The only extra weight I have is a Leer Cap and I’m running 275/7017’s so I’ll probably get better fuel economy than most. I’ll keep you updated as I put more miles on the supercharger.
