I doubt there will be any changes.

Small tweaks are likely. But mention of tooling changes in my mind suggests a significant change. At least in my career within production facilities it has been that way.

But I do see what you’re saying in regards to delayed MY 2025 releases.
I wouldn’t be expecting anything significant this early either, just asking in the event there was something.

2016 Tacomas only had manual rear sliding windows. 2017+ had electronic. Likely not a significant tooling change from an assembly standpoint, but to me (and likely others) that was a big feature change.

And now Toyota has decided such a basic feature should be an add-on…but I digress :pout:

I would actually prefer no rear sliding window unless it was like the Tundra. I like the single pane of glass look.

Well sure, that’d be swell. And I agree it’s a much cleaner look with a single pane.

My gripe is that we now have to pay for something that was previously standard equipment.

For some reason that’s just how Toyota has always done it. I think back to the 4Runner (since I drive one). 4th gen (03-05) Limiteds had halogen reflector headlights and halogen tail lights. 4th gen refresh (06-09) Limiteds gained memory drivers seat, halogen projector headlights, and LED tail lights. 5th gen (10-13) Limiteds lost the memory drivers seat, went back to reflector halogen headlights, and halogen tail lights. 5th gen refresh 1 (14-19) gained memory seats back, halogen projectors, and LED tail lights.

Correct, in Toyota‘s history there has never been big changes in the second year of generation change

I wouldn’t expect many changes on the 2025 Tacomas beyond QC adjustments that we won’t immediately see, but will appreciate later….hopefully they also tweak packaging and available features.

But the real elephant in the room is how much will the price increase over the ‘24’s?

I found a 2024 the other day when searching that had a VIN for week 47. I have a build for next week 44 happening. I hope they change over. I would like to see factory discounts possibly applied before my 2024 arrives.

There are well more than a dozen Limited's around me in a 250 mile search. I am shocked at the amount of Tacoma trucks in the lots around here. The dealer I use has not really had a stock truck on the lot since Covid hit since they have been selling them before they even hit the ground. They had 8 Tacoma trucks on the lot 2 weeks ago when I was there that are stock.

The 2025 LC increase was $405. While that is less than a 0.7% increase, I wouldn't get your hopes up for a decrease.

I need someone to talk some sense into me about a 2025 2.7L Ranger. It's tempting.

personally I’m not a fan of the looks. I will also get absolutely roasted for this but the Maverick has more usable space than a Ranger…

I wonder if Toyota will have an answer to the upcoming Scout Terra that is set to arrive in 2027 (wish sooner). The risks of buying a fledgling brand notwithstanding, it checks a lot of boxes for me.

I'm with you. Squashed potato with racoon eyes. Looks like ass. Design engineers loaded up file _squapo.dwg did a merge with _trashbandit.dwg and were done and gone to Hooters to ogle the waitresses in an hour. Zero effort.

Looks wise it's not horrible, but it is very important to configure the trim properly on that model. Moresoe than with Tacoma.

Should they? Seems like a lot of manufacturers are pulling back on EVs. I don't think Rivian has cleared a profit yet and have not heard much from RAM yet on the REV or whatever it is called. I guess time will tell when ford drops their PHEV Ranger. I hope that toyota does consider a Tacoma Prime but really needs 80 to 100 miles of EV range and then 20+ gallon tank.

They won’t even do 20 gallons now! A Tacoma Prime would have a 13-15 gallon tank tops.
