Also my billing period changed when I got a smart meter. I don’t always get my bill on time on the 1st. When I called & asked why, the lady said it depends when they look at it. It’s gets screwy around big months that have 5 weeks, like March. I pay on the app & gotta wait for them to post my bill. That’s been the shitty part really

and now Xcel has a new app…

it is a true EV. It is claimed to have 350 miles of range on just the electric battery itself. For those that experience range, anxiety, or need more range before being able to charge from the grid, you can have the option of an onboard gas generator That powers, the electric vehicle on the fly to give you a total of 500 miles of range before you either have to add fuel or recharge the battery. The gas generator is not connected to the drivetrain at all, and only connects into the battery or motor to power the full electric drivetrain.

I don’t know all of the EV‘s that have a range extender but ones that have been out for years include the BMW i3 and Chevy Volt.

The irony makes me laugh.. Generator probably has higher emissions than just having a gas vehicle haha. The issue for me isn't just the range, it's the waiting to charge part once you're outta juice.

Pretty disappointing they are making a legacy workhorse an EV. Plus it looks like a bronco and hummer had a baby… not a very unique appearance

Nope. According to the NEDC test cycle, see below:

The BMW i3 with range extender (generator) emits 14 g/km CO2.

The most efficient Mini cooper (not old, tiny Austin version) emits around 135-150 g/km CO2.

Now, factor in that it’s both stupid and way more inefficient to never charge a EREV (Extended range EV (aka generator on board) only with gas and the real world emissions from one is less than the 14 g/km above.

This also doesn’t factor in SOx and NOx emissions.

With the 600V platform, I’d guess that the 20-80% charge cycle will be between 15-20 minutes. That’s similar to stopping at a gas pump to fill up 18-20 gallons.

I have never, in all my life spent that amount of time filling my gas tank.

Edit: I spent 10 seconds on Google. A typical gas pump does 10 gallons per minute. Simple math...50 gallon tank 5 minutes.

The EV Scout is a big disappointment imo. They could not have strayed farther from the original roots. At the very least give the option of a turbo charged 4 cylinder of whatever flavor, preferably a diesel.

I don't understand why vehicles aren't powered by wind turbines.

Nurses said to get off nicotine a few days before, to keep the stress off the heart during anesthesia. WTF about the stress from getting off nicotine for a few days combined with anxiety of the upcoming procedure. :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:
Combine that with paying a complete stranger to drive me there and back since my family is either too old or unreliable.
And the bank account is once again depleted from paying for this shit.
I'm about ready to just say fuck it and roll the dice with it. It prolly won't kill me for several years.
Just needed to vent, I'll be fine.;) Got that big box of Swedish joy mocking me from the closet top shelf. Gonna piss me off if I manage to kick the habit and it goes to waste.

Don’t worry, I’m sure Jason will have a smug, know it all reply to your question. Seems par for the course on every topic that’s ever brought up on this forum.

Hamsters are more efficient. Maybe Kia was on to something years ago

There is a surprising amount of information about hamster power on the internet. According to reddit, the first source of all truth on the internet, the 236 HP my 2nd gen motor is able to output is equivalent to 351,970.4 hamster power. Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/theydidthemath/comments/jfnjse/request_horsepower_to_hamsterpower/

According to google AI, the second source of all truth on the internet, it costs $50-80 a year to feed a single hamster. So all those hamsters...the cost of food every day to keep those furry little guys alive just to run my truck...that's $17,598,520.00 over the course of a year. I know they aren't running full speed all the time, but I need to make sure they don't die, and I don't spend anywhere near that on gas.
