Oh it’s going to be a fine day to be outside here! 68* and sunny! I have a trailer load of limbs I’ve been cutting to haul to the limb recycle center. Always fun…not!
    Have a beautiful day everyone!

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Erranding today - haircut, Harbor Freight, take a burger to my buds at 4LoFab in exchange for more advice, and the store. Fortunately,, not a lot of walking! Did lighten PT considerably, and took some heat at the end. Heat good! Got a pad going at home. That's it for excitement.

Well, I think I've lost a friend. He disappeared from a forum I met him on and wasn't responding to e-mails. I tracked his address down through county records and sent a letter, and his daughter responded with his phone number... and when I called I found out he'd been in an automobile accident. Not in good shape, and he seemed happy to have me interested enough to talk. We spoke several times, him calling and me calling, over the next three weeks and then I took a trip to SD to see the kids and failed to call for that week... and he didn't call either. When I got back I tried to get in touch but the phone says the call can't be completed. Since the accident he hasn't been using his e-mail but I've tried that too. No obituary found though, so closure is elusive.

    Afternoon all:

Good luck with your forum friend Travlr! :fingerscrossed:

15 morning hunts now and haven't seen a tail! Saw 1 cross the road this morning in the dark, 2 cross the dirt road coming out from hunting, and 1 standing in the woods on the way home, there is still hope!

Hope all is well with your friend @Travlr .

There were a lot more steps involved today than I thought, and I'm still watering out back with football. Heating pads in this house for the win.

Signed into our vision insurance website yesterday.. had not looked at it for a while. Updated a few things, everything's now current. Needed to make sure, new glasses in my future. Been putting it off for some reason... if it isn't broke, don't fix it has served me well for close to 80 years. Wifey says I'm complacent, I say dependable.

That is one bad thing about this.
You make friends online, some you will never see, and you lose touch. Then it’s the unknown that gets you.
You just hope things have gone the best way possible for the situation.

I’ve made some great friends here.
My wife has too and, she’s not even a member…
Many of mine have disappeared. You just have to appreciate the time.

Oh boy! Another fine fall day near normal temp! Sunny! 64*! Light breeze! Perfect outside day! Only wish I was fishing or hunting!
Kettlebell day, then start to refill the trailer with limbs and trims. Need to buck up some firewood limbs as well. Saved a pile of 2”-4” limbs just for this.
Got to do my weekly clean and refill the birdbath. May not be long before it is frozen.
    Blow/rake leaves of course…daily chore!
Soak up some vitamin D to help keep me healthy!

Hoping everyone stays/gets healthy and enjoys the day! I am so thankful to be so fortunate heathwise! Only wish everyone could be as healthy!

16 days now without seeing a deer while on stand, one did cross the road while we were walking in though! :annoyed:
We have been going to multiple spots in five different locations so far that "HAD" deer, it's not like we are concentrating on one spot, hardly any rubs, scrapes, heavy trails, or droppings anywhere. Even at my house there are very few deer showing up on a trail cam, I have two stands here, but not even worth hunting out of them from what I'm seeing. :(

I've seen this quite a bit on this forum, when people join us for a while and then totally disappear, I often wonder if they just got tired of us or if something happened to them, we all know why Jim isn't here, but haven't seen Cheech, or Willie, and many others who I enjoyed reading their posts in a long time, maybe not best friends, but internet acquaintances with interesting hobbies, thoughts, etc.

So I was asked to do the impossible.
    Repair this bowling ball.
    Never seen one this bad.
The depression is over a 1/4” deep.
Told them I can’t guarantee this repair.
    Going to be a chore..

It must have sentimental value. I would just get a new one. How expensive can a bowling ball be?

    A set is around $260..
These are very used and actually vintage and will be sold for basically the repair costs for them.
Give someone a chance to own their own.

I have a couple of thoughts on this.

    1) I used to own a particular kind of car which had its own forum, and I was very active there -- to the point of becoming a moderator! But the car eventually left, and my participation in the forum dwindled and eventually died. Moral: life happens. Maybe those folks sold their Tacos and moved on, or something.

    2) For me at least, Tacomaworld is a unique experience. The moderation and lack of you-know-what posts (shout out to @tcBob ) makes it a very easy place to spend time. I'll probably hang out here even when I don't have a Taco anymore. It may not strike everyone in the same way it does me, but for me TW rocks. So if someone stops posting, especially here in the geezer thread, I do wonder why, just like you. We're all of an age where people around us pass on, and it is always there in the back of our minds.
