    Happy Friday evening, everyone.

Tomorrow I have to re-install an exhaust blower on the lady friends glass studio/she-shed. She told me that it wasn't working the last time that she tried to turn it on. The exhaust port was wide open, so I figured that some tree rat made a nest in there. When I got up on the ladder I could see where a 4" chunk of the wiring was missing. I wouldn't think that the tree rats would do something like that, so I removed the whole contraption and took it apart and brought it home to "fix". When I looked at the wiring harness under magnification, it looked clear to me that the wires were cut. Who/how/why- she has no idea but is now freaked out about it. ( I don't blame her). Someone would have needed an 8' ladder to reach the thing.
The wires were cut close to where the go into the fan motor, I was able to solder on some new leads then used some RF shielded harness for a bit more protection. I also added a short piece of exhaust ducting so that I could install a dryer vent on the end that also directed the airflow downwards, so no one is going to reach into the blower again.

Sunday I will start hanging the deck ledger onto the rim joists and get some framing done on the small deck. I got sidetracked with 2 other small projects this week, so I didn't get a lot accomplished on the deck.

With the USFS in SE Alaska, when we'd use a handheld radio, to contact Air Ops in Sitka, when we weren't in clear contact with a repeater, the dispatcher would call, "Change your location." I often found it funny to take a couple steps in any direction, and whatever old growth Sitka spruce or coastal hemlock had been in the way, was no longer blocking the signal path.
"Change your location" was my brief thought when I boarded a new Alaska Air 737-900ER with white Recaro seats and the mood lighting at Spokane (first flight the day after Christmas 2018, 5 a.m. departure) for Seattle-Tacoma, and I made sure to turn around as I left the jetway to see where it was going next. Tampa! It was probably warmer and drier than rainy Puget Sound, but I went to my eldest daughter's wedding rehearsal in Renton, the wedding party's photo session the next morning (took all their orders, found a coffee shop and returned to Point Defiance Park to deliver. Ex-wife: "Did you bring anything for us?" Me: "Did you place an order?") and the wedding in Tacoma in the evening. That's been my only airline trip since 2011.

I know exactly how you feel! Once I turned 60 I rented a sat phone for the month of October but this year did not. I have Verizon and never got coverage in the Arrowhead but they are putting in FirstNet for first responders which is AT&T. Still don't get coverage many places but better than it was I got an esim for this month to get AT&T coverage when available. And my hunting partner has an iphone right before we left he got the update on his phone to text anyone with sat, apparently due to the hurricanes they rolled them out early. Still carry a zoleo sat communicator but will cancel that for the rest of the year.

This is also the first year I didn't carry 20 gallons of gas with me like you the nearest gas station in the Arrowhead and Canada to the cabins is more than 30 miles away. Modified them so they worked properly, the youngest dog helped me when he was a pup.

This summer both places put in gas pumps for the fishing boats as well as snowmobiles. Runs ~$6 a gallon at both places but by the time I drive all the way into town and fill up plus fuel to get there it is worth it to me. I'm there to kill birds not run around.

    Have a great time!

Looks like a #1 long spring? I used to boil my traps with sumac tops this time of year once they turned black to help prevent rusting. Spread the jaws with a nail in them and melt wax with a little bit of pine pitch mixed in to help keep the wax flexible and pull them out to coat them as an added measure. Got my first $100 bill trapping fur, it was a lot of work but so was anything else done at $1.10 an hour $1 hour for farm work.

Laid down after work tonight and slept 5 hours now I'm all messed up but was exhausted after this week. Got a new 28 ga. side by side shotgun that I'm taking skeet shooting this morning so a bit excited and that may have something to do with not being able to get back to sleep. I sense a nap coming this afternoon. After moving more leaves.

    @Tacoma Mike

    Submitted for your approval:

The lowly poverty trim SR does not come with a vanity mirror. Mrs Plan Jane Taco has been none to pleased with this omission. Me perpetually telling her she is beautiful is not sufficient. There has to be visual confirmation.

I briefly thought of sourcing some OEM visors. But by the time I paid for them and wired them up, it just didn't seem worth it.

$4.99 Autozone aftermarket unit was installed. I'm prepared to pack my bags if necessary.

    Good Morning Stock Folk
Looks like a nice weekend wx wise, maybe the last; if I'm interpreting the forecast right, I believe the snow that stays is coming Monday and Tuesday ... we'll see.

Cute little booger. Sorry about the chicken damage though. How many did he get before you neutralized him?

It’s hidden. Not a mod of an original visor. An add on accessory. GTG..
Would it help if We all told her she was beautiful ???

 thanks buddy. And no, probably not. She's never come to grips with the fact that she's always been good looking

That makes her more attractive IMO.
