Found the camera I was missing... It never made it out of the woods, kinda glad it didn't and had fresh batteries, I might try and shoot a buck this year

Think I'll go out back in a few and sit till dark.

This is good recipe to sub in Venison.

 

It makes acorns rain down, I've had some luck hunting under oaks.

 

Soooo.. used to be able to hunt all the time, I mean like everyday. Took another job away from my hunting spot so now it's the two weekends before gun season and opening day gun. This has actually worked out really well, but that's a different post. This one is, it is so freaking hot and dry it's not funny. It was 62 when I went hunting this afternoon and that was a break and the temperature. Most of next week will be in the 70s, and if it wasn't for the hurricane it would be unbelievably dry. Actually it is unbelievably dry because the hurricane didn't amount too much here. I assume small game is surviving on dew. Deer, bobcats, coyotes, larger game animals, I'm not sure.

 

What are whitetails too big defenses, hearing and smell. What can defeat those? Wind. It then stand to reason that on windy days whitetails are not going to move much because they are at a very big disadvantage. So if you are to hunt on those days it stands to reason you would need to go after your prey and not wait for them to come to you.
