Have a "Trunk or Treat" car show at a large farm nearby today. Live music, food.
Should be the last hurrah car show for me this season.
Temps in the low 30s right now, Chevy weather. Headers crackle with these temps.:burnrubber:

32* at our airport, lowest point around, but 40* at my place. Going to be another great day outside in the 70s!
Finished cutting firewood yesterday. Maybe enough for a one evening campfire, but it wore me out!

Here’s a fascinating website I’m excited to search once cold inside weather hits, if ever?
    https://ocw.mit.edu/search/
It has some pretty interesting looking classes. Most way over my head, but so were most of my college engineering classes! Still something to do once the cold gets started here.

Have a fun relaxing day everyone!

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals and Sue! Still setting or tying temp records - maybe get back to normal low 80's next week, and maybe some rain. We'd gone on to 40-ish days since rain last week, and the only place that got anything to break the streak was the official airport station in Austin - 0.01"!

Longhorns won a tough squeaker yesterday - Vandy has definitely been drinking their Kool-Aid! No Lions on TV for me today. Run the Roomba and watch football. Oh, I have insurance stuff to review....

Yesterday I spread steer and chicken manure in my veggie garden and tilled it into the soil with a shovel getting it ready for next season. That after carrying numerous heavy sacks of the shit from truck to garden. I forgot that I’m an old fart. Back pain is screaming, arms and shoulders are in need of replacement. I feel like a crippled old man. I am a crippled old man.
Today just to get out of the house were are going for a drive up to the mountains to our favorite little ice cream place. This place makes all of their own ice cream , it’s the creamiest best tasting ice cream on planet earth. We’ll have a cone and then buy a few quarts to bring home. That’s kind of making me forget the total body pain.
Also gonna replace the windshield wipers on the vehicles. I do that every October to get ready for winter.
Have a great Sunday all. Be safe.

Sounds like fun... I've been buying wiper blades through Rock Auto .com because I can get them for 2 to 10 bucks and the ones from any of the retail stores are at least twice as much. If I order anything at all with them it spreads out the shipping costs too. The cheap ones are Anco or Trico, which seems to be all that is available from parts stores, but there are higher quality options for less that the blades in the auto parts stores.

I agree 100%. I usually get my blades from Rock Auto or similar. I had forgot to order them this year so I just bought them at a parts place. They were way way more expensive . They were high end brands and high end prices. Won’t do that again. I always get my vehicles ready for winter in the month of October. Mostly consists of checking everything from fluids to lights, changing wiper blades. Checking and putting new batteries in the 2 flashlights in each vehicles and the portable hazard lights. Making sure everything i might need is there and ready from first aid kit to blanket etc etc. Just something I’ve been doing since my youth.

    TY.
Not fond of the color but, maybe the only set like that on the lanes.
They are vintage and the company went out of business many years ago.

Good bedding for dog houses. They hold a lot of heat, stay warm if damp, tend to wick moisture out, and take a long time to mat down. Lots better than blankets or any kind of fabric. About the only thing better is corn husks.
