flashlight! i am a flashlight freak. (plus knife freak, bow freak, gun freak)

for the car. rechargable. streamlight Polystinger cannot be beat for the $$ $80 if you search. batteries are bombproof. but if you run it dead, you start it's death..chase down any Snap-On tool truck for a decent price battery.

or 5-11 tactical flashlight. maybe for the car..the 300 (smaller series) it charges from flat dead to full charge in 90 SECONDS! cops use them. i have a 400 and it is like turning on a bright white sun. they call it the "light for life". best warranty on the planet. i broke mine they sent me a new one. amazing. chick on the phone sounded hot too!

or...the Pelican 4080. another cop favorite. great torch. about $80 from bass pro.

i have not found a maglight i like at all. very dated..looking.

Get the Streamlight Strion. It's a small, rechargeable LED light that is bright as hell. It comes with the charger and it's own mount that you can put in the truck. They are made out of metal and are pretty indestructible. It's the new version of the stinger which is what I use at work. A bunch of people have the strion and they are MUCH brighter.

I used it once to signal down a cop and a tow truck. Where I work when they back out motorhomes I use it to Get traffics attention to stop them so the motor home can back out

Can be used for self defense at night, pretty good at disorientating an attacker or someone

Picked up a new flashlight that is pretty freaking awesome.

Got one of these new MagLite XL50s, picked it up at The Home Depot for a mere $30 +tax.

    http://www.maglite.com/maglite_xl50_led.asp

-Cant beat the price and the lumen output. Boss at work has a slightly better light that puts out 6 more lumens (XL50: 104 Lumens, Boss': 110 Lumens.) and it's half the price he paid for his. Oh yeah, my Boss' light goes a tad further, XL50 is 145meters, his is like 170 meters. This baby is bright though.

-Has a "high power" function (1 click of push-button) and a "low power" (2 quick clicks of the push button) and also a strobe function (3 quick clicks)

-Great fit inside of a pants pocket. Not bulky or oddly weighted/shaped.

Sure fire lights are really good, but only down side is they dont make a rechargeable one. I used to have those cr123 battery lights and I needed batteries every 2-3 days.

I have a Fenix TK11 and love it.
    Two brightness modes- 60/225 Lumens.
I bought it for work, because people, regardless of emergency lights flashing, haul ass past us on the highways and streets. I always use it as a strobe (even though my model doesn't have the "strobe" feature) to let people know to move the hell over and slow down.
AWESOME light. I've had it for over a year, and haven't had one problem with it, and I've only replaced the battery once ($7-20) depending on where you get em.
Super durable, I've dropped it on concrete several times, and in mud. It's a beaut.
Ran be about $110 (I can't remember exactly) but it's well worth it and the prices have come down now. My model is no longer in production, but they've got a ton of different ones.

    Check em out.

I wish my light had the strobe feature for this exact reason.

    I love it.... :D:D

I will occasionally drill holes in a vehicle if necessary, but .... to mount a flashlight????

Nothing wrong with the old fashioned way, in the glovebox or under the seat. :):):):)

x2. Love mine, and I have the car charger which I'm considering hard wiring to my ignition and mounting it somewhere. I take it everywhere.
