I just use a ruler but some people find these useful for stitch welds.

And depending on the direction you go, you can move it over to mark your "tack" for each length of weld.

True true, but I just tightened up the bottom straps and it ain’t so bad now.

Learning the CK Worldwide MT200. I’ll just say the first CK arc was bliss. Very nice stability.

22g and dipped .045 just to be on the safe side as I didn’t want to blow through while learning how to use this machine. Bad practice in my book.

Would like to thank everyone again on the guidance for the primeweld welder. Spend the past few days getting her set up, practicing voltage and feed speeds, getting comfortable with it before tackling the tractor.

Had to cut the torque bar and re-align the plates, which threw the bar about an inch out of alignment. We threw it onto a chain tied around a stump and pulled it back nearly perfect which is the first pic. Welded her up and covered it up with paint! Pretty happy with it, now looking for other excuses to use a welder besides practicing beads on mild steel!

Yeah never done stitches before and was using the holes to figure out what I wanted, I was better doing a 4" span vs a 2" span which is why they are long.

No worries, just a helpful tip maybe, or not

When blue prints called for say, 3" centers on 2" beads, out comes the ruler and sharpie

But those help to mark where you want your beads and keeps them evenly spaced (for aesthetic reasons while still providing strength)

    winter is coming!

i've been tripping/straddling/avoiding the metal in my garage since spring to keep all of it nearby and somewhat clean.

now that winter is coming, it's time to have the good metal up on a shelf and off the floor, and the rough metal gets pushed back outside behind the garage.. problem being that i had to build the supports, which was sort of fun to work with wood and pneumatic nailers again-- far faster than metalworking..

and my new metal rack. i'm out of space down low, so moving upwards...

oh no def helpful haha I just was trying to see what works for me to make it nice, especially since I knew I wanted the ends fully welded. So in the end after I ran one long bead I kinda stuck with the 4” based off the holes and just tried to make it work. Now I know if I do stitches I need a better plan lol

    Sure, whoever buys it!

His customers definitely use the pits he sells, at least most of them since he'll get pictures of them in use for his IG.

The pit isn't for him, but just one he wants to showcase as he attends all the fairs, home shows, and more.

It's the biggest fire pit he's ever cut out hence why he asked if I'd like to come over and help; I ended up welding all of it except the very end since we were toying back and forth getting the top on with the forklift.

Alls I can say is WOW. The 4C technology is bad ass. So feliz I picked up the 3350. Good Stuff from Lincoln Electric. Can’t wait for the Husky sticker to arrive.

Hard to beat the Ultra Shades for their days technology, so na bra, not my first good hood. Unfortunately Miller dropped the ball!

Miller, ala F1, should go poach some of Lincoln Electrics personnel from the lense department :D

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I’m curious if that new speedglass rounded lens is worth it. I don’t really need a new hood, but always up for seeing better.

For those of you on the fence, Big Rojo is giving back a $75 rebate in the form of a prepaid credit card, and IOC gave me another $15 off. Very good stuff.

First thing I ever built from scratch having just learned how to weld so many moons ago. Kicker, I used flux core :welder:
