What's odd to me is that new builds in the west valley (Surprise, Goodyear, Waddell) are selling for the same price as some homes in the East Valley and up north (Gilbert, Chandler, Anthem, New River) and they have to put up with all the F35 noise at Luke AFB. I don't know why anyone would want to live so far out west and commute the 10 everyday either.

The nice thing about Snottsdale is the lower tax rates. I think Gilbert has a better vibe to it though. Snobsdale, Gilbert, Carefree or farther north in the pines are the places to be imo.

Housing is expensive everywhere. At least if I moved back To Arizona, I’m familiar with the place.

I’m looking to retire from the army. I’m single without any kids so it’s really just me. Hopefully I could find a decent low stress job and just enjoy the outdoor activities.

but yeah my north Tempe home that I bought for 275k is worth 600k now and it’s just a regular ass 3 bed 2 bath ranch with nothing special about it. sickening.

I’m looking out in Maracopa, surprise, and the San tan valley.

I'll sell you my Scottsdale condo. Recently renovated nice mountain views easy access to the 101. Quiet community.

If you think it's bad here the places we're looking at in Montana jumped from 380k in 2019 for 2k sq feet and 1-5 acres to 780k now for 2k sq feet and 1 acre

My realtors laughed when I asked for this and our first one dropped us for being difficult. I'll deal with it for the location and rate we locked for 10-15 years until we start looking for something further out. At least it's $50 a month and they're pretty chill unless someone complains about something.

HOAs can be ok, you just have to do your research.

There is a happy middle ground where they just make sure noone is selling crack or worse, running an air bnb, but they dont hassle you too much.

Yeah I'm 90% sure my issues are with my eastern neighbor and not the HOA because I get shit for things that are half as bad as others in the neighborhood that go unfixed... mostly the yard I don't currently give a shit about when I'm down a bathroom and 1,500sqft of bare slab in the front half of the house that needs tile.

Finally got a nice afternoon to get after prise's GX wheels, first step was blasting them with brake dust remover and an all purpose cleaner.

I'd say the first pass went damn good! Most of the grime just melted right off.

These are the 2 most rashed ones and they're fine, I'm probably not even gonna bother with repair or powdercoat.
    20241027_164833.jpg

Next step is goo gone and plastic razor blades to scrunch off all the wheel weight goo.

Have yet to decide a tire size, 265/65R18 (match stock size) or 255/70R18 (true 32"s)

Who knew overlanding would be so expensive? Just getting the truck ready and modded to pick up the camper has been ridiculously expensive.

True. Figured double down on preparedness before this election. Can now move into the woods fully sustained with the camper, stocked up on ammo and bought a new gun all in the last 45 days lol

If ww3 doesn’t start does anyone want to rent my house for $4k a month so I can start paying things off haha

Rooftop tents and their consequences have been a disaster for the overlanding community.

Nice. As much as I love lighter weight lower height pop up campers, its so nice to just get in and out with everything set up and not have to raise/lower the roof.
