Max was driving in a way he knew he could get away with given the ruling after last weekend's race, until he pushed too far and ended up just driving unnecessarily aggressively

Also Checo getting that attempt at fastest lap at the end was very reminiscent of what they did with Ricciardo a few weeks back... except Cecho couldn't get it lol. Plus, he was also driving like an asshole earlier.

Redbull team is acting like...........well a bunch of things I should not say here at all. Most of the things involve mental illness.

Frankly The Ass could have caused a very serious accident. I love hard racing, I'm not gonna get all pantywadded about some contact, but being a complete erse on the track, embarrasses the entire sport.

Fishlips has driven that way since his first season in F1. People ignored or defended it during the championship fight with Hamilton either because of their dislike for Hamilton or fatigue from Merc constantly winning. And people have forgotten since Fishlips has been running unchallenged out front for so long that he didn't have the opportunity or need to drive like that. Now he is under pressure and its right back to the same old shit.

He drives like that all the time but especially so when he isn't getting exactly what he wants, or when he feels especially under pressure. You're right, he's going to get someone hurt.

With where both were running they probably planned to just do it with both in a desperate bid to steal a point from McLaren, then Charles got the final word

need to learn more about this stuff
You all must hate every f1 champ or just started watching f1. Come on. You don’t become a champ by not pushing the limits. And I know everyone hates max right now and will say “but meh or meh and meh” but that’s the difference of a champion driver and a good driver that will never be a champion. You can call him dirty, or whatever you want, but he’s an insane talent and has the mentality and determination to win titles. It’s really the reason Norris will always struggle to be #1. He’s an insane talent, but he doesn’t have the edge. You have to be willing to drive hard, push the limits, piss other drivers off, and get yourself the win. Massi said it best. “It’s called motor racing”. All the greats have done it and if anyone wants to be great, they’ll have to do the same.

No one will say you are wrong. But a lot of us love to see Max squirm. He does not exactly remain calm under pressure. Micheal Schumacher was different, Hamilton was different in the way they pushed limits. Schumacher was aggressive, no doubt about it, but the same way Max is? I am thinking not. Hamilton? Yes he was at times, and I'm not so sure he has that edge anymore - that saga continues.

This all makes F1 2024, very excellent. IMHO.

It's not just the way they pushed limits and were aggressive, it's the way they responded to being under pressure. Max just has a knack for not only attacking aggressively when he's on the offensive, but defending in a way that is aggressive in a sore loser kind of way.

Sure, if the only names you know from F1 history are Schumaker and Senna. For every one of them there are more that did not drive in an aggressively dangerous manner like Clark, Stewart, and Prost.

I've been watching for years. And I don't see your comment as completely accurate. Some drivers are more aggressive than others and that's just how it is. Mika Häkkinen was a great champion, and didn't drive like one of my favorites, Schumacher. Say what you will about Hamilton, but while he pushes limits, he focuses on pushing the limits of his car, and himself. And yes I know this is an F1 thread, but look at NASCAR. Dale Sr. was an aggressive driver, and won, but Jeff Gordon, and Jimmy Johnson also won a lot, but both weren't nearly as aggressive. Back to F1 and comparing two RB drivers, I don't look at Vettel, and MV in the same light, and both have been successful.

Well said. When Wally Dallenbach, Sr. was chief steward for CART he was known for saying in the drivers meeting that he would not tolerate using the car as a weapon.
