T completely tore the wiring harness out of the right rear of my 17 Tacoma. Is there a way to bypass it so that the warning light goes away on my dash?

Repair the damage or ignore the light, there is no bypass.

I messed up mine when I bashed my right rear bumper on the trail. I didn't tear up the wiring harness but everything that the harness plugs into to include the bumper cover mounting bracket. Anyway until I replaced all the damaged stuff I just hit the button on the lower dash with the "P" which I think stands for parking assist and that turned off the warning light.

Thank you so much! That wasn't the fix, but it turned out even easier. Looked in the manual, ( I know, I've already surrendered my Man Card), and guess what? You can turn it off with the dedicated button. Poof! Fixed.

Good - I might have guessed wrong on which button but that works so great - fixing should not be too hard once you get a new wire harness.

By pushing the blind spot button "OFF", all my problems went away. I'll happily live without it. Especially when Toyota dealership was asking $4,000 to put in new.

$4,000 - that is bat shit crazy ! I can't find it now but I have seen a youtube video of how to install a high clearance bumper that covers removing the OEM sensors and wire harnesses and replacing them for the new bumper. The harness itself can't cost all that much the dealer parts department would probably jack up the price but you could get it on-line for pretty cheap I bet and install it your self. When I broke my bumper cover bracket Toyota wanted some insane price (a couple of hundred dollars plus) I got it on line for $88 and after I got it saw it for as cheap as $44. The sensor parts were dirt cheap - less than $20.
