Anyone have a number for Patrick (@nguyenpatrickt)? If so, can you shoot me pm with it? Or I'll send you mine to forward it.

We're trying to TWExpress something but he hasn't checked in lately. TIA

Flagpole was looking pretty good this weekend. The weather was perfect! 1000004226.jpg Resized_20241019_125030.jpg 20241020_092441.jpg 20241019_181239.jpg

Good pics… How stock friendly is the union springs side all the way up? I know the other route up is just a gravel road.

Union springs is stock friendly, but you should have 4wd and someone else to join/spot. Dunkle Hollow is gravel. And the 3rd road is paved.

Wifey wanted to hit up the mountains to see some leafs. Made her talk a walk too. :D

The pix are from the Blue Ridge Tunnel, that is under I64 up at Afton mountain. Was a nice cool 50*+ inside the tunnel. Supposedly it’s like that year around.

10-4, getting some new tires on truck after winter so trying to talk wife (daughter is always down) into a trip during spring break in April and get a buddy and family to go to that area and stay up there for 2-3 nights and do a few of the trails available/caverns and make a mini vacation out of it.

having another truck might not be in the cards so trying to stick to the easy stuff.

Thanks! We drove up the gravel side and camped to the left of the summit (great campsite). We road down to meadow creek knob (first picture). I think a stock Tacoma wouldn't have any issues on this section. Definitely having a spotter would be recommended as another member mentioned. There are three "technical" sections between meadow creek know and flagpole knob, oh and a few fun mudholes.

Fairly certain that I am going to be letting go of the Taco here soon in favor of some more creature comfort...must be getting softer as I get older.

That being said, over the next few weeks I am going to begin taking stuff off of the truck to convert it back to stock. Only doing this because I know (and don't expect) that the dealership will never give me any extra money over trade value for my add-ons, and I don't have the time/patience to deal with tire kickers. I will post items up for NoVA discount as they are removed and cleaned up.

So, the only stock items I’m missing are the OR wheels and tires. If anyone has any insight on some local take-offs that might be available, I would appreciate it. I think there is one set on FB marketplace, but they are a tad pricey.

Can confirm! I live in South Carolina, but we have a house about 20 minutes from there. Summer before last we walked the tunnel on a 92 degree day. It was so nice to take a break in the middle of the tunnel.

Nope. Mine rode like a car until I lifted it. Now it rides like a truck.
