I just purchased a JBL Entune 3.0 NAV unit + amp from a 2022 tacoma to swap out with my JBL Entune 2.0 NAV unit +amp from 2017 tacoma. Purchased harness from AutoHarnessHouse. Having issues with new Entune 3.0 recognizing a USB is contacted so CarPlay is projecting on screen. Audio also shows no usb connected. Purchased new cable (morphie usb to usb c) from Apple Store and CarPlay popped up momentary. Apple's adapter for usb c did not work.

Did a hard system restart and no change.

AutoHarnessHouse has been very helpful and is sending a replacement USB adapter to see if it fixes the problem. Any one else have this issue ? any troubleshooting advice? I have triple checked all connections.

Also noticed the brackets from old amp do not connect to new amp.

Im using a iPhone 16 pro. Phone will still charge when connected.

Update: received new usb be adapter. installed and no difference. tired 3 difference usb a to usb c cables and different different iPhones.

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

I have an older version of Carlinkit unit, no complaints.

I put an Entune3 in my 2019, which had 2.0 from the factory.

I do not pair my phone directly to my truck because it will ALWAYS be forced to connect to the truck if the truck is on.

For example, if I'm in the garage working on the truck, if the truck is powered on, I can't use my BT speakers or my headphones.

If I'm having a Teams meeting or a call in the truck, I can't use my ear bud.

With the Carlinkit adapter, I have choices. I can connect my phone to the truck by plugging in the adapter USB. If I want to use other BT devices with my phone, just unplug it.
