Hey guys. I recently had my radiator damaged and in a pinch I fixed it and replaced with water.

went to a shop and they fixed my radiator (replaced the side black plastic piece, it was cracked), and they flushed all the water out and replaced with Toyota pink.

8 liters and it was filled up. Does that mean there’s still water in there? Is it ok if there’s still some water mixed with the coolant?

    what should I do? Thanks.

p.s. I ordered a new radiator and plan on changing it.

Coolant is always mixed with water. I think the stuff they put in was pre-diluted to a 50/50 ratio. You should be fine.

You'll be ok. You said Toyota flushed it and I'm sure they did it right.

It's fine. You can flush it again to get the warm and cozies back when you get the new radiator....
If they swapped 8 liters, they got it all anyway. Not that they actually measured
    8.0 liters... lol

oh no it was a random shop. I live here in the Middle East, lebanon.

they used an air compressor to get the fluid out.

If they did it right, they put in a mixture of 50% Toyota pink coolant and 50% water (or something close to that). You don't run 100% coolant in a car engine, it's always a mix of coolant and water. Keep your head down brother!

OEM Toyota pink is pre-diluted, IIRC.
At least it has been each time I've purchased it..

OK, then I get the OPs question. But still, nothing to be concerned about unless we are talking a lot of water here.

When your freeze plugs pop out of the side of your engine block, you'll know it was too much water. :D

(if we have freeze plugs with the 3rd Gen engine...)

When you're young, poor, and breaking down everywhere you go, it's amazing how many substitutes you'll find for one fluid or another... lol

ReMember coolant protects both low temp and high temp. I imagine you’re fine, really worried buy a hygrometer and test the radiator fluid

Engine coolant is primarily water mixed with some additives, e.g. ethylene glycol.

The ethylene glycol prevents the water from freezing. It might have some other nice properties.

Toyota pink is a mixture that can be used as is. There’s need to dilute it with more water.

While distilled water is best, because it is less likely to form deposits when it evaporates, as long as most of it was flushed out, I think you are ok. Back in the day I used straight tap water.

Where I live, back yard wrencher have always just used 50% plain ol antifreeze (nothin fancy/contains ethylene glycol) and 50% tap water. When I say 50% I mean eyeball not precise measurement ha ha. Works on coldest days and gets to -40 here. No overthinking needed.

In Beruit his odds should be really low on popping freeze plugs.
