Obviously you weren't there so what do you know? You must drive an 18 wheeler? This was the first time it ever happened to me. The camera isn't just for those big rigs but for all drivers including you....

Agreed. On my cross country drives, they are always the safest and best drivers on the road.

Driving across country a few weeks ago I had a really close call of one driving me off the road for the first time. Just started coming over while I was right next to it. Thankfully the OTT gave me enough throttle response to accelerate on the shoulder and escape.

18 wheel drivers are not painted in a single brush stroke, I see dozens of accidents caused by them every year. Auto accidents with other motorists, hitting overhead structures, falling asleep at the wheel. I work for the DOT and respond to lots of these accidents to repair what the careless truck drivers damage.

No need to go at OP, he got a dash cam. it's not that deep buddy.

Their CDL is on the line for any infraction in the rig or in civilian life. And while they are annoying with the way they attempt to pass other rigs on uphills, they rarely weave at 90 like many smaller vehicle will.

I do have a sunroof which probably makes the headroom a bit worse. It's not terrible and I absolutely love this truck, it's more that my vision line is almost inline with the rear view mirror and sometimes I have to almost look under it to see if there is a vehicle to my right at a 4-way stop.

I do have seat jackers as well, that is more for the thigh support not being adjustable enough. Drove it across the country right after breaking it in and found that I would top out the thigh adjustment and want more on the longer stretches.

I have also read that the sport seats have less padding than the off road which is why I was contemplating cutting some foam out.

I do as well. I was just in a 2024 TRD Pro. There must have been 30+ switches in that thing all over the place. I had to help the new owner find the switch for the rear power window. It took both of us over 5 minutes to identify it.

Yes, the tunes bring the throttle on sooner and more aggressive. The version of the tune varies how aggressively it ramps up. You'll adapt.

S-mode doesn't set your gear. It limits how high of a gear the transmission can shift to.

S-mode, as stated, limits the upper gear to use. For towing, many use S-4 because 5/6 allow lower revs and lower revs do not reach the revs needed for maximum torque.

I use S-mode for off-roading because on dirt emergency braking can skid you off the hill ... use S-limiting to engine-brake and limit the raw-braking needed. Or in slow traffic where you will be braking much for a while so limit maximum speed.

No I dont drive truck, but your previous post you made it sound like this is a recurring thing and not a first time thing...
Had you said "I had an 18 wheeler almost run me off the road so I decided to get a dashcam.", well, that would be different.

Regardless, too many drivers refuse to understand anything about driving a truck. They cut them off, follow too close, stay in blind spots, etc., and they bitch and complain about almost getting turned into or pushed off the road. 18 wheelers are large vehicles. Stay out of blind spots, don't tailgate them, anticipate that they can't see very well, know they need extra room and give them that room. You can avoid a lot of incidents with truckers this way.

People are bad drivers. I'm guessing the person getting run off the road is either a bad driver (not defensive around a vehicle that will turn their head into mush) or an anxious driver...I still have my Class B CDL, but haven't used it in 3 or 4 years, even running a loaded dump truck or Vactor (about 25ish feet long) around the city I drove for, I would get cut off at red lights all the time when we were coming to a stop. Multiple times I just had to stand on the brakes and hope that I stopped in time. I can only imagine what a 53' + OTR driver deals with at highway speeds across the country.

I attempted the same thing, except I snapped the internal threading for the running board bolt, so I stopped. Very expensive to have it fixed. Just passing on to save you a future headache.

Why didn't you re-tap existing internal threading with a larger diameter tap, then re-bolt your running board with a new larger matching bolt?

How's this for getting run off the road by a 18 wheeler? Hit and run to add to it!

On those, there is nothing to tap into. And that’s IF you could get the bolt out that is still locked to the existing insert. It just spins now.

How did you get "run off the road" with damage to right rear?
Typically it would be left front.
Like some have said, truckers can't see you if you're in their blind spot. Especially on their right side.
Some truckers though have bad undermaintained equipment and they are often drivers who graduated from bad cab drivers.
