    Done! Thanks for doing this!

Good morning folks! Not looking like a good outside day unless you like 40 mph gusts! Yeah! That means I shouldn’t have to blow/rake leaves today! Man cave day me thinks!

Wish you all a great day!

    Morning all:

:yay: Here's what's left of my trip wire bomb, looks like it worked! :)
We didn't go hunting this morning and I was on the computer, at 5:48 I heard a muffled explosion that I hoped was caused by the trip wire device, went down to the pond and confirmed that it was. Hopefully it was the bear, and that it scared the crap out of it so that it stays away. I was afraid that it may not work due to multiple things that possibly could affect the way I set up the ignition of the fuse on the 1/4 stick, but everything apparently worked to perfection! There is an aluminum plate that I had screwed onto a tree that I had It mounted to, I looked for it but didn't see it. :fingerscrossed: that it was the bear that set it off, I only had one of the 1/4 sticks to play with.

:( I was going to take a before pic. and didn't, it was quite the contraption, but it worked!
I qt milk carton cut in half with a slit in the end for the contact separator to fit through with fishing line attached to the contact separator, piece of thin fabricated aluminum angle that fit in the milk carton, 1/4 stick glued onto the angle, battery glued onto the angle, clothespin glued onto the battery, small broken Xmas light for igniter, fabricated small cardboard tube that Xmas light fits into filled with 4F black powder, larger fabricated cardboard tube that small tube fits into, stuck fuse from 1/4 stick into that tube and filled with smokeless rifle powder, tubes sealed with electrical tape to try to keep moisture out, plus the wiring. I had to cut the milk carton in half in order to be able to screw the angle to the tree, then put both halves back together with duck tape to try to seal it from too much moisture getting in.
Yea, simple but complicated, and no specific instructions on how to do it!
Now I might need to figure out how to make a suitable substitute for the 1/4 stick, or the M80's that used to be available, if needed!
    Any ideas?

Found some of the rest of it, I expected the aluminum angle to be mangled, but not blown apart.

I've see this happen on many forums that I have been on for years. People come and people go, happens in our lives like that. Interest change, hobbies change, life happens, work gets in the way etc. Or like in my case I stop getting notifications for some odd reason and the when I realize that and look up this thread 20 pages have been posted, lol. I don't even have my tacoma anymore but I keep coming back to this forum because of the people and other threads I have interest in. This is a great forum for many reasons.

Good morning porch folk and donut makers. Whew...so much going on since the hurricanes. Life getting somewhat back to normal. Drywall repairs done in the flooded areas of our St. Pete place, now just texture and paint. No more "bay-water stank" in the garage. The debris piles are slowly going away all around the area.

For our place up in north Florida (the farm)...we are 98% finished now with the rebuild we started 2.5 years ago. The hurricanes devastated some of our trees in woods, but I had strategically removed the ones that were too close to the home. Going back up there this weekend with the girls to enjoy some R&R while we get some small punch-list stuff done. Build a fire, nature walks, chillaxing.

Here are a few pics of the home at the farm.

    Unbelievable! You did great sir!

My little lady flies back in this morning, so I am rushing to get ready for the hour long rush hour traffic to the airport. The granddaughter and I are anxious to see her after having to eat our own cooking for the last two weeks…UGH!

    Have a wonderful day!

Beautiful remodel Jim! Nicely done, indeed!

:( Sad day at the house today Porch Pals & Sue. We had to say good bye to little Rex this morning. Early summer, he got a positive cancerous tumor on his left rear leg late spring. No one would give him better than 50% of spread, regardless of options. So, as long as he was happy and not suffering, which was up until this week, we'd keep Happy Rex with us. This week, it doubled in size, and then started bleeding. He wore a brave face, but doggos are good at that. So it became time.

RIP to a great little co-pilot, and Mom's shadow.
