C4 Rock Runner Series FR Bumper

It's an easy problem to fix they just didn't weld the cross bar at the right angle.

 

I will have to notch the lower part of my grill for the winch plate. With the s/c there's no room to relocate it.

 

Do you plan on cutting and rewelding the crossbar? I’ve been scratching my head thinking on how to fix this problem lol

 

Wouldn’t surprise me if they sent the 3rd gen panels. Their QC has been lacking lately on a few of the rock runners I’ve installed. One the hitch didn’t even fit. Was half a hole away from fitting correctly. Same bumper they sent two left braces instead of a left and right. Missing hardware for the license plate hinge

talked to another guy on ig and he got two left wings for the bumper.

They did not be up sending out the parts

 

You might not like this, but if you want it to be tighter. You could remove the wings and drill out the bolt holes to be more oval going up from the original bolt hole. You would be making the bolt holes in the center piece oval. That way you can move it up a little.

I also don't think it looks bad as is.

Has anyone done this or thought about it?
C4 Hybrid bar work on Rockrunner.

Now looking how these bumpers are built (Pictures only)... The entire bar section could be removed by removing the carriage bolts, lower it 1/8 or so and slid off forward, then replaced with the original minimalistic wings if you wanted….

 

That looks badass and they will probably steal that idea

 

Good, I hope they do. It will save me from finding a Hybrid bumper to measure and building my own.

I am almost thinking the removable bar section could be made from Aluminum like Greenlane Offroad bumpers and sliders are made from.
Galvanic corrosion should not be an issue if coated correctly. Aluminum would keep the weight down too.

 

Popping back in to ask about ps coolers again, what's the process for removing the factory and adding in a new one? Pulled the skid plate and found out one of the hardlines are bent very nearly shut, so I don't think I can ignore this anymore lol

I have been following DRT FAB's CMD bumper project and I am liking the cooler with AN hose fittings also the way it mounts to the body as opposed to the plastic cooling fan zip tie things C4 use.

 

I will be selling these kits on their own for those that want a cleaner PS cooler relo

Managed to get a light bar on the bumper with some minor cutting. Really have to love @Baja Designs for always sending extra wiring connections with every order. Much props.
