I start radiation tomorrow. Dr. told me because of the location of some of the nodules in my left lung it's going to be 5 rounds of heavy
radiation on my right lung and 20 rounds of medium radiation on my left lung. UGH:pout:

I just saw this tonight and thought of this thread. Dave Coulier from the Full House tv show was recently diagnosed. It's not colon or esophagus cancer, but stage 3 Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. I think my dad's NHL was stage 3 or 4 when he was diagnosed. I wish I knew what causes or caused it.

from my personal experience, all of my pre cancer screenings and post cancer surgery screenings have always done both a CT Chest and Abdomen scan. I'm surprised those weren't requested as follow ups. very sorry that you had to go thru that, but i am glad that you appear to be on the "good side" of this occurrence.

just FYI, at age 39 i was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer and had a partial colectomy with no ileostomy. I'm in my second year of surveillance post op.

The stage 1 colon cancer I had, surgery was considered “curative” they looked no further, no scans, no follow up screening. Hindsight I should have gotten a second opinion!
