I attempted the same thing, except I snapped the internal threading for the running board bolt, so I stopped. Very expensive to have it fixed. Just passing on to save you a future headache.

Why didn't you re-tap existing internal threading with a larger diameter tap, then re-bolt your running board with a new larger matching bolt?

How's this for getting run off the road by a 18 wheeler? Hit and run to add to it!

On those, there is nothing to tap into. And that’s IF you could get the bolt out that is still locked to the existing insert. It just spins now.

How did you get "run off the road" with damage to right rear?
Typically it would be left front.
Like some have said, truckers can't see you if you're in their blind spot. Especially on their right side.
Some truckers though have bad undermaintained equipment and they are often drivers who graduated from bad cab drivers.

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
Some 30 years ago I drove a 30 foot moving truck with my personal vehicle on a dolly 7 or 8 hundred miles. I got cut off enough times to understand the disdain the truckers have for "those damned four wheelers".

Truckers are not wholly innocent or perfect, but per capita, they seem to be doing better than the rest of us.

My brother drives big rigs (for years) and a few months ago, he was in line to pull into a yard, well for whatever reason the idiot driving the truck in front of him, decided to back up into him hard.. The trucking company has cameras all over the truck and was able to see everything...
Just like everything in life, some good and some bad people doing the jobs...

Sorry y'all had bad experiences... But yeah, rent the biggest U-Haul etc truck you can and drive it around the city streets and interstates, you will have a much better understanding and appreciation of what they go through every time the buckle up...

Mild/lite seems to be the way to go up here.
Waiting to regear before I make the switch from KDmax to OTT. Did you use AKtacotuner? He’ll be happy to step it down if you find it too jumpy.

Lucky you, I've been run off the road multiple times by idiot truck drivers. It doesn't take much to get a CDL these days. Some places will get you on the road in a couple of weeks.

I have Lite with Mild on the ECT button. With this wet crap that just came down, I may be jumping the gun with my conclusions? I was just really liking the traction I had last winter, and not having to use 4WD. But, I got the truck in December and it was cold and set up. I will wait until it gets cold and the normal conditions happen, before I make any decisions. I did use Alex... seemed like a great guy! He was pushing for at least a mild/medium combo, but I am not lifted and run 265/70's so not a huge changed from stock. He said he would change it if I want.

@EvlFlash so got the seats done today. It's a noticable improvement. They were able to take out a good chunk of foam from the butt pad. I don't have to hunch forward anymore. My head is still high up, but it's way better than it was. I think my neck issues will be resolved now.

Finally decided on my lift, Bilstein 6112 front/ Bilstein 5160 rear. Icon RXT leaf pack on the second setting. Well known local shop quoted $3,800.00 out the door and they want my truck for two days. Guess I'm going to learn how to myself.

The only time I was aced by a ‘driver’ was when a girlfriend and I were playing grab-ass while passing his truck. Guess he wasn’t amused and ran us into the grass median. I just laughed about it, my girlfriend thought we might die.

I've been run off the road by them a couple times. But I blame the idiot drivers, it happens in all kinds of vehicles these days.
