Idk if there is a kit so to speak - just every option on the page when ordering the bushing.

But yes - removal tool, bushing & seal installer and new axle seal.

Edit - just saw I'm your neighbor. Thought about reaching out to local shops to do it (Bruno/Timbo) but I could be finishing up the work by the time I drop off the Tacoma.

@MyWyfsRnnr approximately how much fluid do you lose, when you pull the axle? I have a quart but, making sure I dont need more. Also, I am assuming it is way easier with the TRD skid plate off? Received the tools and parts this week. Thank you again for the help, answers, and video. Ski

1/2-3/4 quart if it is level is pretty typical.

Should be pretty good, I changed the fluid this spring, with Ravenol products. Should I plan on removing the TRD skid plate? Ski

Yeah. It will make your clean up easier and not get gear oil on top of the skid that leaks out. It will also give you a better angle for getting the axle out

I have mine sitting in a box for when I install my 6112s and JBA UCAs :)

I opted to buy the extra tools just so I don't have to try to jury rig something.

Anyone have rubbing noise after installing their bushing? I did mine, taking my time and using the optional ecgs busing and seal installer tools, topping up the fluid till it stated to drip out.

Things don't sound quite right though as it's making noise like a dry bearring when I spin the wheel by hand. I've already make sure it's not the brake caliper shield, although it's a similar noise to when a pebble gets lodged in that.

That's a new one to me. Let us know what you figure out. There is a coating on the bushing that should keep it from making noise even if it is totally dry (should lube it). One time when removing the wheel I tweaked the dust shield just enough to make a dragging sound. It didn't sound like the dust shield at all but I was able to figure it out over a beer.

Figured it out! The caliper was just scrubbing the rotor, which I was able to isolate by having someone spin the tire while I listened closely, I then verified by pulling the brake pads and the noise going away. The differential makes a very subtle noise that sounds kind of like you were gently blowing on a pinwheel, but ecgs says that's very normal spider gear noise so all is well.

If you still have the tool kit I would love to borrow it for the weekend.

I am most likely going to have to do this in spring. Does the install tool stop at the correct depth? I thought I read somewhere that the clamshell needs to be install flush with the carrier.

If you use the driver from ecgs the bushing & the seal are stopped at the correct depth

Yes, the tool will stop it flush with the outer lip.
Be prepared to whack it hard though.

Yes, that was the surprising part of my bearing install, but after a careful inspection to confirm the bearing was flush, and straight away in-flight to its home, I was like, hell, whack it harder and firmer, and it kept sliding in there to home plate.

I just ordered the ECGS bearing and seal for my '23 Taco. I can only assume one has to do an alignment when finished with the install.

No. None of the alignment fasteners will be loosened in your upcoming project.

Ok thanks, one more question. Does the diff lose a lot fluid while doing this bearing swap?

Enough that you should refill what came out.
