    It was much closer than expected for sure, he didn’t square me up or step out on me like that so a little less scary maybe, it was still pretty wild.. Pretty sure I stood him up from bedding down or he had his head down til I was that close. I heard like 1 step or crash and that head popped up :quickdraw:

    due to some logging and such there are some clear cuts around so the ability to touch a little further at times would be nice but you’re correct, I was actually crawling on my hands and knees about 2-3 minutes prior to shooting that to get through a tight spot due to new fallen trees, basically hiking game trails

    I have and used to hunt with an H&R Ultra slug gun in 12 gauge. Very accurate but very heavy, that’s why I went with the Savage 220.

    I had heavy fog this morning and got out of the tree 20 mins before he came by.
    Got a ground setup all ready by the lower camera.
    Taking a break with the warm weather for a few days till the cold front comes in.
