I just did this yesterday on my week old 2011 SR5 double cab using the OP's instructions - worked like a charm :D

For other 2011's that can't get it, keep trying you might just be missing a little step!

The silence at 10mph is a Godsend.

    Thanks TacomaWorld!

only thing that sucks is you lose your programming each time you disconnect the battery lol
it defaults back to stock beeping, so you have to do the process again, same thing with the beeping lock/unlock :D

took me two tries (had to have plan on how to get seat belt hooked while keeping finger on button). Now dog rides without making the bell go off!

I've tried this multiple times in my 2011 Tacoma with no luck. Yesterday I tried it in our 09 Sienna and it worked with no problem. I've tried searching for how to do it on other 11 Toyota models, but haven't come up with anything new yet.

I just did the mod on my 2011 Double Cab... Canadian model... Worked as I did get the B on and B off message on the ODO display. It does still chime when I first turn the truck on though.

Is this normal or should it be totally silent then also? I haven't noticed the chime when I am driving around and unbuckle though...

Thanks OP for the walk through
