Saw on the news this morning that, Toyota are telling their dealers that there might be shortage soon.

What are you guys thoughts on this? More factories opening in the US?, The value of new and used Toyota going up?

I think in the short term it will be harder to get Toyota's and Toyota parts made in Japan .

With the way gas prices are going, I think they will go down if anything...for trucks atleast...for economical cars, maybe stay the same, maybe go up

There was this one dude where my sis works, he got a Tundra with payments of $200 a month the last time the gas prices got ridiculous, back in '08 I think. Now I dunno about the total price, but I would have been all over that deal.

And the reason is....because a lot of the 'parts' that go into our truck are coming from Japan. Japan is still cleaning up and rebuilding. Plants are shut down & parts aren't being made.

Can't build trucks without having all the parts.

If they are having to push back production now,I wonder if this will delay the 3rd gen truck release?

    back to bone stock.
i figure Japan has enough to work on without worrying about our appetite for badass trucks.

the entire country is conserving electricity. i wish them a quick turnaround, and i hope my truck keeps on lasting.

It is the same scenario for Mazda too. My Mazda 3 was 90% built in Japan.

Yea the issue is parts, and not only for Toyota. Several American companies like ford get their parts and paints from Japan
