Was almost done with this one and hit the face with the boring bar and killed it.

Started over. One side has a radius, one side has a 45° chamfer.

Funny... these are the only ones I have in the computer. I'll have to look around and find the picture album and get them digitized. Before and after...

This is just before I put the bumpers back on it. And some old cast off wheels were replaced with larger diameter (20?) rims.

Yeah, I was lucky to find a donor car with a lot of good parts. The two quarter panels were in the same condition and both replaced with straight and original XL 500 panels... among other things.

Quality has gone down and with that sales has have gone down. Been here 38 years. Seen sales increase every year but the last few years have gone down. People do what ever they want. Salary people come and go as they please. Work starts at 7:30 but a few get here around 9!

Well, we were working right along on the GMC today, so far so good. :)

    ...and then...

Ran out of gas for the MillerMatic.

    Went to get an exchange:
local vendor #1 is no longer servicing that company
local vendor #2 hasn't done cylinders in several years
local (ish) vendor #3 does service my cylinders :)
    ... and is closed. :censored:

Road trip to the nearest larger town with an actual welding supply, the fellow says "sorry, I have to charge you a re-certification fee, this cylinder is about 20 years out of date..."

I guess lately I didn't weld all that much you might say.

I have a feeling the I’m going to run into the same thing when my cylinder gets empty. I’ve had it for about 10yrs. and who knows how much older than that it is. I bought it used from a friend’s wife after he pasted away, to help her financially.

What where they charging for the hydro test? AirGas gets $25 here for a recert. Pay the fee and move on.

It is AirGas and it was $25. No problems.
