Unfortunately I had 3 places to be yesterday. Plus it was very warm yesterday. I think the rain the night before forced this buck to freshen his scrapes in the morning.

 

I left the house on my errands about the same time sat in that stand this morning and saw one spike 7 Toms

 

many years hunting in Massachusetts with a single Springfield. It had a notch in the back to drop the bead down into. Liked Brenneke’s for reaching out a little. Dad had an A5 Belgian Browning Sweet Sixteen. Begged him for that for years. One night after I had left home he calls. Says he’s in Dallas on business and lost his last dollar playing poker. Needs a couple hundred to get back home. (W/o my stepmom finding out) I gave him $250 but for that gun… I put a scope on it and hunted the Quabin Reservoir for years. THAT is the gun I would buy again and again for your purposes.

I won’t lie to you I had to look that gun up, an auto would be a great idea!! That is a good point, would be nice to be able to let another one fly that quick with things happening that quick, some examples I see on the interweb seem like collectors items! Beautiful and pricey thank you, I love the knowledge and information.. something I’ll keep in mind in any gun store or pawn shop I visit now!

Zero deer movement today . Was 64* when I started walking up behind the house . 530 stayed until 1045

 

Nothing at my location either

 

Tomorrow night the temps go down . 6am Sunday morning should be around 32* here

 

I talked myself out of whacking a turkey. 7 Toms to my right for about an hour . 15-20 yards . Today is the last day .

Cooler tonight here also says 42° but usually 2-4° cooler here at house then at the weather station

 

I was thinking pretty hard to talk myself out of it. One had a real thick beard and nice spurs . He would have been the one . Just didn’t feel like dealing with it.

 

Nothing on my cameras as well for the last couple days with the warm weather. Temps dropping tonight after 30+mph winds today.
Think I'll hit my new ground blind in the morning.

 

assuming you guys want harsher nights to help limit activity and promote deer roaming in the sun to warm up?? Moon phases I’m sure too.. Not that it isn’t kinda the same everywhere, just interesting.. we usually hover between the same 7-8 degrees all fall and even most of winter, heavy chance of rain..

 

Actually cooler weather gets their "motors" running. Always seen activity ahead of cold fronts as well.
The rut is still a few weeks away, Bucks, at least where I am became active in the last 2 weeks. My resident, year round group of does are starting to get "corralled in" by the large bucks that suddenly showed up.

Couple nights ago, this buck was harassing this doe on my property.

 

This warm weather shuts them down here . I don’t pay too much attention to the moon even though some people swear by it In my experience the cold weather gets them moving and I have killed some good bucks in the rain and fog . Warm weather the deer move at night not much during the day .

 

78 and frigging windy right now .
